MILWAUKEE -- At least 15 young people dragged a motorist out of his car and kicked and punched him, causing severe head trauma, after he honked his horn to get them to move out of a street, police said.
It was the latest in a series of mob beatings in the city.
The 50-year-old man was in critical condition Tuesday and it was unclear whether he would survive, police spokeswoman Anne E. Schwartz said.
Schwartz said the man was driving alone on the city's north side late Monday when he honked at the group of young people in the middle of a road.
"Instead of moving they surrounded the vehicle," and kicked and beat him, she said.
"They left him for dead and when we showed up he was lying in the street," she said.
Officers hadn't made any arrests Tuesday, she said.
It was unclear where the man was going or if he lived in the area, she said.

I prefer an unconcealed 12 gauge myself; being attacked then would be justifiable grounds for protecting yourself from an insane person.

Milwaukee is highly segregated, blacks extremely segregated from whites, hispanics segregated from blacks and whites, etc. It could have been anyone.

The beating is similar to a rash of group violence that took place last year when there were four beatings in four weeks, leaving one man dead and three others seriously injured. And finally on July 29, 2004, a 16-year-old boy and his brothers were beaten by a group armed with bats, bottles, sticks and socks stuffed with canned food, after someone with the victims called someone a "faggot."
Just another day in the "oppressed" community. No mention of the race of the whuppee, but it did say he was from Milwaukee. High probability is that he was black as were his attackers.

It's only sensible to lock the doors when you drive through a bad part of town.
When I commuted into Manhattan I would get off the Deegan and cross over on the Willis Avenue Bridge, rather than pay the toll on the Triboro Bridge. But in that direction you have to go three blocks through a bad neighborhood to reach the bridge. I not only locked the doors, I made sure I was never parked in waiting for a red light, where someone might come out and approach the car while I couldn't move it.
A mob can get you out of a car by breaking the windows, but only if you are parked in and can't move.

From the guy himself?
From witnesses?
From what?
How do we know he just honked the horn?
How do we know that the crowd who beat him, didn't know him personally?
Is there any information here that can be verified?
It seems like there is no source here, and everyone has already come up with their own conclusions.
FWIT, I can't imagine going anywhere with my car doors unlocked, and if people started to surround my car, I'd lock my doors, which is why this whole story sounds like B.S.
