Caroline Cossey has Klinefelter's syndrome - born with XXY chromosome arrangement. Male is XY and female is XX. Not that this does NOT mean that XXY are "half and half" - but they share more similarites with women than normal (increased risk of breast cancer, pulmonary disease, varicose veins, and osteoporosis, risks shared with women). The prevalence is 1 in 1000 male (XXY have all the external male plumbing, though are usually infertile) births.
