ITSY-BITSY, teeny-weeny bikinis are common -- but now multicultural Australia has head-to-foot "burqinis".
Designer Aheda Zanetti calls the outfit an "Islamic bikini" because it has pants and a top.
She said the costume, marketed under the name Ahiida and available on the internet, covered everything except hands, feet and face.
She said it had a "hijood", named after the traditional hijab. Mother-of-four Adeeba Nabulsi said the outfit allowed her to swim with her children in mixed-sex public pools.
"I have a daughter who'll be twelve in just a few days, and I wouldn't dream of humiliating her by dressing her like that for swimming."
OK. Yet, others do dress their daughters like that. It's up to them, eh?
I still think it's kinda cute, especially on the young kids. I can't see where it does any harm. Frankly, I'd much rather see one of these suits on a 12-year-old than a bikini. 12-year-olds ought not to be emphasizing their breasts. Yet, lots of parents dress them to do just that.
Don't get me wrong. I enjoy seeing the older teens in their bikinis. They're very decorative. But 12-year-olds? I don't think so.
Sexxay bathing suit ping!
That's not a bathing suit. That's a dress.
"That's not a bathing suit. That's a dress."
Sorry. It's sold as a bathing suit. Check out some of the other photos I posted later in the thread.
My eyes!!!
Oh, yeah....I've got to get me one of those. In several different colors. Yep.
The Senior Parade Float from Massachusetts, ladies and gentlemen...
Those "suits" weren't even worn in the 1920's in the USA. Backwards fundamentalist claptrap.
The catalog can call it a jumpsuit for all I care. Calling something a bathing suit doesn't make it so. If it's one piece and has a skirt, it's a dress.
Do you have daughters? Do you know what 95% of US young women today would say if you asked them to wear that Modest Swimwear? Do you know what their friends would say?
This photo is too funny. Teddy's pants are undone. Drunk people often have problems with keeping their pants up. He's too drunk to realize there's cones connected with yellow tape blocking his way, he's just trying to make it to his car without falling down. No problem, he'll just walk through it like Godzilla, dragging it to his car, cones and all. Heck, it'll probably be dragging behind him all the way home. The cops won't pull him over if they want to keep their jobs, though!
I've never seen a kid dressed like that. I suspect only wanna-be Amish are putting their girls in that dress-thing that they call a bathing suit. I can guarantee that even an olympic athlete can't actually swim well in it.
Yes, but the "Holy Hubert" you mentioned never joined with millions of cofanatics to threaten jihad on the infidel world, to chop the heads off schoolgirls in Thailand, burn churches in Nigeria, and gang rape infidel girls from Denmark to Australia.
To equate your silly and harmless 'Holy Hubert' with the threat from islamofascism only makes you sound foolish. It is to equate the flea with the elephant.
i agree
A real life SMURF!!
Let's be fair here. If women and girls need to cover up for the sake of modesty, then why don't men need to cover up? Do these "modest swimsuit" designers have suggestions for men ? Or, are they just biased against women?
Wow, I sure haven't seen this thread in awhile. Whole lot of comments pulled by moderators, things were getting a little nasty. These suits remind me of a blue gumby.
