BAGHDAD, Iraq Hundreds of Shiites spilled into Baghdad streets on Sunday to support their governing coalition, which took a large lead in the Dec. 15 elections and has been the target of opposition vote-rigging accusations.
Sunni Arab groups staged smaller demonstrations in the western Anbar Province city of Fallujah and in eastern Baqouba to support demands for a rerun of the parliamentary elections, which they claim were tainted by fraud.
At least 16 people were killed in violence around Iraq on Sunday.
Two mortar rounds also landed near the heavily fortified Green Zone, and a roadside bomb damaged an American tank on a highway east of Baghdad. There were no immediate reports of injuries. AP Television News footage and photos showed an Abrams battle tank in flames.
A homicide car bomber slammed into two Iraqi army vehicles in central Baghdad, killing five soldiers and wounding seven police and civilians, police Maj. Mohammed Younis said.

Several sheiks as the representitive of their entire tribe got 7 votes. Heck, some of the guys have that many wives and voting children. No doubt there was corruption.
We are still trying to get an accurate count from Cook County. Pity there is not video coverage of the counting operation, both in Iraq and in the US.

Given the demographics, the Sunnis weren't going to get more than about 20% of the vote. If they had gotten over 50%, then I'd agree that fraud took place.
They're complaining about not being a majority. Ridiculous.

I assume the normally useless U.N. election monitors have not spoken out yet with something along the lines of "No evidence of fraud" because its too early to make that claim. By the way, the Sunnis had some of their polling stations GUARDED by insurgents (or clowns at least dressed as such). Seems its pretty clear where they stand...
So lets get this right. They didnt win the majority in a region where theyre a minority in the first place?!? Thats like George W. insisting on a recount back in 04 in Massachusetts!!
