Sounds like there were a few more problems in that family than the gun.
But, of course, why blame the person who fired the weapon? She just went through all the hoops the feds and state government said to, bought the gun and then pulled the trigger.
I say blame the perp.

So the author's premise is that because her brother's fiancee's mother is a crazed murderer, then I can't Keep and Bear Arms? Sorry Leftists, your argument has one again been rejected by the rational citizenry due to lack of substance and merit.

she shot and killed her daughter and her daughter's fiance -- my brother David. The author correctly used the word "she", and then promptly forgot why. Who would the author blame had she tossed her brother out a window?
Blaming the gun is about as ignorant and as irresponsible as blaming a pencil for a misspelled word.

Then she shot and killed her daughter and her daughter's fiance -- my brother David I've got a news flash for you sweetums. The problem is not the pistol, particularly mine. The problem is grandma. Without any more information which is curiously lacking, it's hard to say anything more specific than that. I can however, say with certainty, it had nothing at all to do with my firearms so buzz off.

She fears that the government will limit her opportunities to profit from her brother's death by suing the deepest pockets she can find that are at least tangentially related.

Okay, help me out here. Handguns are the essence of pure evil. But Tookie Williams uses a shotgun to blow off an innocent woman's face and he rates a Nobel Peace Prize.
Mmmmmmmnnnnnnn . . . liberal logic.

Private ownership of guns made the Japanese decide not to attach the US. 120,000 concealed carry permits stopped carjacking in Florida. Most people that kill someone are criminals and a few become criminals when they pull the trigger. I have been shot at by RPG and have set off a land mine by running over it. I WILL keep my guns thank you but be warned do not try to take them away from me! The Constitution gave me the right!!

But let's stop arming the populace in the meantime, which pro- and anti-gun advocates alike know for certain will create a mountainous death toll. Typical know-it-all lib. Making a purported statement of "fact" - that pro-gun advocates know for certain that arming us will create a death toll that is mountainous. Mountainous! That is CERTAIN! We all know it!

Nearly 12,000 Americans annually use guns to do just that, and the majority use handguns. Twelve thousand: that's comparable to the number of AIDS deaths each year in the United States.
Should we sue homosexuals for spreading AIDS? Can we do a class action suit against them for tainting the blood supply? Of course not, they don't have deep pockets. Should we sue auto manufacturers for all the deaths caused by careless/reckless drivers? How about suing those states that give them drivers licenses? How about alcohol makers? Gotta be some deep pockets there. What is the story on this mother? Having some experience with the mentally/chemically ill and their so-called rights, I'm appalled that some are allowed to own firearms.

So it was the GUN, not the future mother-in-law, that killed her brother?
Here's a little experiment even SHE can do: Take a loaded GUN, place it on a table in the middle of a room, fill the room with 100 people. The GUN is to be left alone and untouched. Wait a few hours to see how many people the GUN kills....
(My bet would be....0)

These guns are designed to kill people: That's their sole purpose. Must be something wrong with my semi-auto handguns. None of the them has ever killed anything, let alone a person. Neither have any of my long guns, except one. I have hunted pheasants with the Browning BPS pump shotgun. I didn't get many withit compared to how many I got with it's predecessor, a 20 pump marked by Sears. Yes Virginia, Sears not only sold guns, they had their own "house brand" of both guns and ammunition.

But let's stop arming the populace in the meantime, which pro- and anti-gun advocates alike know for certain will create a mountainous death toll. Actually, we know no such thing. Quite the opposite in fact. The historical record is quite clear, "More guns = Less Crime", and less deaths". Of the remaining deaths, the balance is changed, more bad guys less good guys. And that is a "Good Thing". IMHO at least.

Of the 12,000 guns used to kill people every year, 160 are used in legitimate self-defense. Even if her figures are correct, so what? To me the only statistic that counts is the one that occurs in my home. I can either be the one in 160 that uses my gun for legitimate self defense, or I can be one of the 12,000 people killed by someone else's gun. The person who is responsible for her brother's death is her mother, sue her ass for using the gun improperly. Typical liberal, wants to put the blame on someone else.
