Dick Morris: 'Condi vs. Hillary'
The New York Times ^ | December 25, 2005 | DICK MORRIS and EILEEN McGANN

Posted on 12/24/2005 1:49:13 PM PST by presidio9

I, Hillary Rodham Clinton, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of president of the United States and will, to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States, so help me God."

On January 20, 2009, at precisely noon, the world will witness the inauguration of the forty-fourth president of the United States. As the chief justice administers the oath of office on the flag-draped podium in front of the U.S. Capitol, the first woman president, Hillary Rodham Clinton, will be sworn into office. By her side, smiling broadly and holding the family Bible, will be her chief strategist, husband, and copresident, William Jefferson Clinton.

If the thought of another Clinton presidency excites you, then the future indeed looks bright. Because, as of this moment, there is no doubt that Hillary Clinton is on a virtually uncontested trajectory to win the Democratic nomination and, very likely, the 2008 presidential election. She has no serious opposition in her party. More important, a majority of all American voters - 52 percent - now supports her candidacy.

But her victory is not inevitable. There is one, and only one, figure in America who can stop Hillary Clinton: Secretary of State Condoleezza "Condi" Rice. Among all of the possible Republican candidates for president, Condi alone could win the nomination, defeat Hillary

Condoleezza Rice, in fact, poses a mortal threat to Hillary's success. With her broad-based appeal to voters outside the traditional Republican base, Condi has the potential to cause enough major defections from the Democratic Party to create serious erosion among Hillary's core voters. She attracts the same female, African American, and Hispanic voters who embrace Hillary, while still maintaining the support of conventional Republicans.

This is a race Condi can win.

I can never support that Israel-bashing aborionist.

Yes! Better to have Hillary as President with her 100% NARAL rating than to have Condi as President because Condi only supports some restrictions on abortion. That will advance the pro-life movement and reduce abortions. Way to go. I love your thinking. You wouldn't happen to be a Buchanan Brigadier perchance?

If its McCain vs Hillary I vote for Hillary. Too many conservatives still do not see McPain (in my arse) for the menace he is. Better to fight the enemy that all can recognize then the one that will divide your forces.

If it's Hillary v. Condi, then Hillary will win. But I will still vote for Condi.

Who can beat the bride of___________? There just has to be someone! Hittlery is unthinkable!!

Cheney would destroy Hillary...particularly if Condi or Rudy was his running mate.

According to Rasmussen only 30% of those polled would definitely vote for her while 37% would definitely vote against her. Her negatives are higher then her positives also. I am not minimizing the witch or underestimating her but i do not believe the media will be able to shield her to the extent necessary to keep the dirt hidden.

"She looks good on foreign policy, but she is pro-abortion."

So....that would mean hillary would be a better pick than Condi ?

I believe, as bad as abortion is, that if hillary is elected abortion will be only one of our problems.

No, no. Of course not. But he may not use all his political capital to ensure that Alito is confirmed. What that would say to a lot of people is that he nominated Alito because he needed to regain conservative support, but doesn't really care whether or not he makes it onto the court.

Earlier Republican presidents almost made it a habit to nominate a conservative judge, let the Democrats shoot him down, and then nominate a liberal. I'm sorry to say that this was often deliberate from the first. I'm not prepared to say that Bush is doing that, but he still needs to follow through on this appointment, all the way to confirmation. It's critical if he is to mend fences with a lot of social conservatives who voted for him a year ago but are growing disillusioned.

There would no doubt be morons so hung up on ONE conservative issue they disagree with Condi on - abortion - that they would fail to support her enough to ensure 'four? eight? more years' of Clintonism pushing forward HARD an uber-Liberal agenda against ALL conservative issues.

Hil-LIAR-ary is counting on this.

IMHO, The Hildabeaste has a bunch of really, really ugly baggage to carry around. And soon, I hope, the Peter Paul trial (campaign finance crimes) will get under way. This alone my sink Her Sleazeness for good. If not, the potential publication of the Barrett report may do it.

If she decides to run in the primaries, watch for the filthiest, nastiest, down-in-the-gutter political race ever.

Should be lots of fun :)

IMHO, she may run but she won't win. Too much over the top behavior in the past. All of which will be dredged up and rerun ad nauseam during the race.

The one thing the MSM can't hide is the fact that if she's elected, the public will know that Bill will be back in the White House.

Just the image of Bill smiling lecherously as he holds the bible as the shrew is sworn in is enough for her to lose.

Remember that it was Al Gore in the Dimwit primaries that unleashed the Willie Horton issue on Dukkakis. If Gore, Kerry et al. run in '08, it will be a mudfest.

The "Barrett Report" is about IRS abuse by the Clintons which the dems are trying to keep from becoming public.

With all these leaks, why hasn't someone leaked this?

Maybe because all the leakers are democrats.

I mentioned McCain because the media are constantly mentioning him as a candidate.

No, I agree with you. He is certifiably nuts. If the choice was between hillary and McCain, I really don't know which I would vote for. Probably neither. Withholding your vote or voting third party is never useful, but if the Republicans were ever stupid enough to nominate him, those would pretty much be the only choices left.

If Giuliani were nominated, the media would kill him on the moral issues. Partial birth abortion, gay rights, messy divorces, northeasterner. Freepers might decide to vote for him, but probably ten million religious conservatives would shake their heads and stay home. I like Rudy, in spite of all his problems, but not as a presidential candidate.

You're missing the point to. George Bush won an extremely tight election because of an upswell of grass-roots Conservative support. A pro-abortion candidate can't expect to receive that support. The problem for a lot of Conservative who see foreign policy as the most important issue is that they are unable to put themselves into other people's shoes. I agree that foreign policy is a President's most important job. But not all voters think that way.

Something to keep in mind about Morris:

On August 29, 1996, Morris resigned from the Clinton campaign after reports surfaced that he had been involved in an extramarital affair with a prostitute named Sherry Rowlands. It was revealed that Morris had allowed Rowlands to listen in on phone calls with the President, and had given her a copy of a campaign speech before it was delivered. It was also revealed that Morris has a child in Texas, whom he fathered out of wedlock.

Something to keep in mind about Hillary:

Married to disgraced impeached liar under oath in a US Court of Law, Bill Clinton.

Something to keep in mind about Condoleezza Rice,Ph.D:

She is the 66th and current United States Secretary of State, was previously Bush's National Security Adviser during his first term (2001–2005). Rice was eight when her schoolmate Denise McNair was killed in the bombing of the primarily African-American Sixteenth Street Baptist Church by white supremacists on September 15, 1963. Rice states that growing up during racial segregation taught her determination against adversity, and the need to be "twice as good" as non-minorities.

There are other options besides Rice.
-----
Yes there are. But whoever ends up with the nomination, is going to have to be a fighter, and be able to go up against the unbelievable spray of lies which are going to be spread by every leftist MSM outlet worldwide. The left has invested so heavily in breaking the law, lying, cheating, misleading, and corruption that, to be won, it is going to take a real fighter whose support team will put the light of day on the RATS and expose what they really are.

That's all well and good. But 20 years of debate have shown that you are not going to change enough minds to influence this election. If you don't want Hillary Clinton to be our next president, the important thing is to get behind a candidate who can win. Condoleezza Rice can't win.
