I feel pretty good about myself when I buy military personnel beers when I see them out at bars. Now I feel inadequate as hell.
Dnn't worry about it. We all do our share.
I was staying at an exclusive gold club/spa in San Diego. I was having dinner, alone when a couple sat down at the table next to me. I found out he had just gotten back from Iraq and they were about to get engaged. As I left, I picked up their dinner check (which was not small) ... without saying a word. It felt really good.
A simple "Thank you" is all we need.
Hey, I used to enjoy the free beers. But if you'd feel better buying jewelry, my wife has been wanting a new tennis bracelet.
A gift given from the heart is priceless, no matter what the monetary value.
Same here. I did a similar thing at the Salvation Army a few weeks ago. Now I need to go do it umpteen more times.
Now, you know how I feel.
My hubby spent 16-months in Iraq. After he came back, strangers bought both of us drinks upon hearing that he served in the military (he didn't easily volunteer this info either). It is ALWAYS appreciated. Thank you for buying us drinks.

It's not how much you give, it's giving from the heart that counts.
Me too! I've made it a rule for quite a while that no serviceman, police officer or fireman pays for a meal when I'm in the house. I guess I will have to redouble my efforts to live up to this wonderful lady's example.

I always feel pretty weird about offering to buy a military guy a drink or something.
Do you get a good response?
