What's outrageous is that there's not a small number of Freepers - or used to be, anyway - who maintain that U.S. citizens do indeed have the right possess any WMD they desire (including nukes), and invoke the 2nd Amendment to make their case.
You do have the right to own anything you can make. HOWEVER, the rest of us have granted the government the power to restrict it for the safety of us all.
