Post 279 has the way I brew the stuff.
Though the finished product depends upon the roast you use.
Found some 'dark' roasts that were patheticlly weak.

I usually use a 50:50 mix of traditional Maxwell House and Puerto Rican espresso (such as Cafe Bustelo), one heaping scoop per two cups of water with one extra scoop "for the pot" and just a pinch of salt on top.
My father-in-law used straight espresso, a couple of dashes of salt and a sprinkling of Skoal. He was a Chief Petty Officer in the Seabees and I think that is where he picked up that recipe.
Mine, I always drink black. The old Chief's, I had to break down and use a bit of sugar.
