Maybe you could explain how expression of solidarity with the genocidal goals of Hezbollah is "Christian fellowship," and why baring the throats of Israel is the same as "turning the other cheek."

Your comment is unspeakably naive and suggests you have totally missed the evil staring you in the face. This reveals something dark about your own motives.

There is no such position in the PCUSA as 'representative to Hezbollah.' That such is an official office is a patently false assertion.

Tomeh may designate himself such, others in secular and fundamentalist media outlets may latch onto his own self-ascription for inflammatory reasons, but again, there is no 'rep. to Hezbollah' position out of Louisville or Chicago Presbytery. Sorry.

On the other hand, it would be my hope that PCUSA ministers and layfolk alike would be meeting with those from Islamist organizations in order to share the message of Christ - so too with Israelis and Jews. They all need the good news of Jesus - the Prince of Peace. Jesus allowed Jewish terrorists - Zealots - to follow him, to associate with him, while rejecting their violence and showing them a different way.

Jesus' message was a consistent rejection of the world's resort to violence and domination and terror to achieve political or religious objectives.

That message of peace and reconciliation we all need to hear and embrace.

Of course you are right, still, a lot of these "mainstream" denominations continue to hemorrhage members to the growing independent mega-churches because of antics like this.

Hey, historically the Islamics often had allies in the Christian camp that
assisted their conquest.
Thus, the PCUSA is (probably unconsciously) filling this time-honored role.

The PCUSA should read Paul Fregosi's book "Jihad In The West", with
particular attention to the Islamic taking of the Iberian peninsula.
PLENTY of help from Christians there.
