Sometime ago, the salary of the CEO of the Salvation Army was posted on one of these FR threads. I can't remember it exactly but it was well under $20,000 plus a house to live in.

I don't begrudge any preacher a good living but I agree that anyone who uses God's money for a lavish lifestyle is doing wrong.

I don't know if this preacher is living a lavish lifestyle or not but flying first class may be a tip off.

If he was doing it off of tithe money, I would agree. If he is doing it off his book sales, that is another issue, IMHO.

The Red Cross chief and some other orgs are paid very highly; the Salvation Army head gets the least, but I think it's a few hundred thousand. The S.A. has the highest ratio of donation to helping; or I should say by far the least waste on overhead.

The Lutheran Church has the largest food donation organization around the world following the Gospels: "feed my sheep".

He earned that lavish lifestyle whether you like it or not. To me, God's money is the money in the collection plate. If he was living off the money from the collection plate, then I might argue he's doing wrong, but there is nothing wrong with living a lavish lifestyle off a best-selling book.

Since the succes of his book, he takes no salary from his church.

You all know that if this had been a movie star (Oprah or Barbara or George or Alec) we wouldn't have even heard about this. On the contrary, the stewardess would have fallen all over herself doing whatever was asked of her. No body seemed to mind when Laura Flynn Boyle was going from bed to bed in her drug-induced state, trying to crawl into bed with whomever..
No, it is my opinion that when the flight crew saw this Conservative Christian would be aboard the plane they made up there mind he would be a problem and if he wasn't, they would make him one. Anti-Christrian bias prevails everywhere.
