Now, city and community leaders worry that the council will be unable to resolve critical issues in the coming year -- from passing a budget to bringing BART to the city, to building a new ballpark.

``I don't think we can underestimate the difficulty that our government is facing,'' Councilman Ken Yeager said Wednesday.

Let me make it easier for you, Ken!

Don't build the ballpark and DON'T extend BART.

Glad to be of help.

I was reared in San Jose. It was a pleasant little agricultural town, famous for its apricot, cherry, plum, and walnut orchards, when my family moved there in 1958. Now it's a mess--750,000+ people, orhcards gone, terrible traffic jams, pollution, and a horrendous cost of living.

I'm glad my last sibling finally moved out of there two years ago, so I don't have to go back.

BTW, the track gauge for BART is different from both CalTrain and the LRV. Thus to "tie the systems together" will require separate stations, spurs, and shuttle systems!

Doncha just LOVE it?

Compared to San Diego, San Jose city government looks competent, clean, and well-funded.

"``I don't think we can underestimate the difficulty that our government is facing,'' Councilman Ken Yeager said Wednesday."

This stupid politico MUST have meant OVERESTIMATE --- and the freaking "Murky News" reporters and editor were also too stupid to catch the error by the hero....

Typical amateurish performance by the "Murky News"...

San Jose has been cursed with incompetent, corrupt or just plain stupid "leadership" since I arrived in '77.....

San Jose is a city with EVERYTHING going for it --- location, High Tech Silicon Valley corporations, etc, etc, etc........and the criminally incompetent "city government" blew the opportunities at every level...
