HOUSTON The wife of the pastor of the nation's largest church was asked to leave a plane after she failed to comply with a flight attendant's instructions, the FBI said Tuesday.
Houston Lakewood Church pastor Joel Osteen, his wife, Victoria, and their two children boarded a Continental Airlines flight from Houston to Vail, Colo., Monday. The plane's door had been closed when Victoria Osteen and a flight attendant had a disagreement.
"She failed to comply with the flight attendant's instructions, and they were asked to leave the flight," FBI spokeswoman Luz Garcia said without elaborating on the disagreement.
The FBI reviewed a report from Continental after the incident, Garcia said. No charges will be filed, she said.
The flight was delayed more than an hour while the Osteens' luggage was retrieved, Garcia said. The family took another flight to Colorado, where church spokesman Don Iloff said they were skiing Tuesday.
Iloff called the disagreement with the flight attendant "minor" but would not say what happened.
"In semantics, they might have been asked to be removed," he said. "Really, it was more of a mutual thing."
Continental spokeswoman Julie King would not discuss the disagreement but said in a statement that the situation was resolved.
Osteen's sermons are broadcast across the country and his book "Your Best Life Now" has become a best seller. His church has more than 30,000 worshippers weekly and meets in a renovated arena where the Houston Rockets once played.
PS please send supplemental donations immediately so that on our return trip we will be able to fly private charter and avoid a repeat scene that will reflect badly on you, the church and Jesus.

I Believe This Isn't Good For Her Or Their Ministry. Humility Is A Giant Challenge For Every Christian--However One Spins This--It Doesn't Look Good To Me.
LOL
They didn't build that structure. They filled a need for an occupant after the city built over a billion dollars worth of new stadiums and arenas.
That is where the Rockets USED to play until the team and city deemed the building unsuitable.
I wonder if the phrase, "Do you know who I am?" was ever uttered?
I'm not impress with pastors who quit accepting salaries from their churches when they're on the New York Times Best Sellers' List. I think it smacks of peity and purposely gives a false impression. It's like Bill Gates giving away half his salary of $24 billion dollars. That sounds very noble (and it is) until you realize he's keeping the other $24 billion. I could live comfortably on $24 billion.
No persons who were on the plane said as much. And I'm sure everybody in close proximity heard everything.
I don't think anything like that was said, but who knows, except the people who were there.
Likewise, I wonder if this statement was uttered by the attendant, "Who do you think you are?"
She may have asked to leave the plane voluntarily after the incident because you will be spending the next couple hours with that person with NO way out.
I've left businesses before because of rude treatment. Wouldn't want someone in the service industry spitting in your food.
Airlines give customers a single napkin and in the event of a spill, that is hardly going to be enough to clean it up (regardless if the customer or the stewardess spilled it). If the motto is going to be "get it yourself" then the airline needs to improve "self service" options.
Was she permitted to even get out of her seat to clean herself or had the order come down for all passengers to remain in their seats?
Would this have even made the news if it had been some "nobody"?
Why didn't Ms. Osteen request a napkin and clean it up herself. Oh, I forgot, when you make that much money, not just in the name of God, you tend to forget you are not the only one in the world.
Too bad.....
I've seen some of his sermons on TV. He comes across to me as rather softball.
The Christian thing to do would have been to ask for a cleaning rag and then wiped it down herself without further complaints. She could have turned a major PR hit into a PR plus. Instead, she opened her mouth and proved she was a fool...
And they can vacation and spend Christmas wherever and however they wish.
It's the attitude that has been exposed in her statement that is so arrogant and smarmy as to be a satire of themselves. They have become precisely the kind of stuck up obnoxious Prima donnas that comedians couldn't satire better...
Good grief... the sweet smiling and the ever present
I guess because she was in first class and paid 1800.00 for her ticket she wanted Gold Star Treatment
Amen and amen!
That statement reads exactly like something husband Joel told her she'd better by golly write lest the golden goose turn to lead.
And how do you know that? Do you have access to their books? Describe "ethical." Jim Bakker was also once described identically as ethical and financially sound, but ended up in jail anyway.
The common thread of these "Mega-Churches" cancelling Christmas services has been all over the news. To me, it just seems wrong to not have at least some sort of service on Christmas - after all, who's birthday are we celebrating (even if the actual date is very likely way wrong)? Business decision? OR selfishness?
As far as the original subject - far be it for me to judge, as I wasn't there - BUT, Either Victoria is right and the whole thing was blown up by the airline employee (no charges filed/allowed to fly a short time later), or Victoria IS a Prima Donna with a Diva attitude and was rude. But again, that's between her and God.
Well, that tells us a lot.

What is capitalism all about to say bash any rich american who made a profit? When is too much money too much? God says to pay ten percent to him and the government says pay your taxes and capitalism says that you can keep the rest and it is nobodies business. The only exception is if you are taking from a church, of which, he no longer accepts a salary. And to say because he is a minister who happened to write a very good book, he can't make a good living and fly first class if he chooses? Who are the real socialist liberals? Maybe you and the rest of the people who bash anyone making a living outside of the church need to move to France where they control wealth!
