I've had people who have known me for 25 years ask me for my ID in the last few years. The WOT has made everyone follow the rule book exactly which is insane.

Following the law is insane?

I give up. People obviously could care less about the Constitution. People don't care about law. People would lay down and just let them roll over us. The terrorists have won! Why? Because he have given up our freedoms.

Makes me sick.

Just what freedom have you given up? I'm serious......how has this affected your everyday life? I truly can't think of one freedom that has changed for me since 9/11.

You are beyond being clueless.

There were far more intrusive things going on during WWI and II, sanctioned by presidents than there is now; not to mention during the Civil war and yes, even Korea.

Just WHAT "rights" have YOU personally lost due to the Patriot Act? Be specific and detailed. If you are unable, or incapable of enumerating each and every single "right" you have lost ( and this MUST be specific and germane to you and you alone! ), then all of your emotional, hyperbolic bloviating is just that...a whole lot of meaningless HOT AIR!

But if there is strong support from the American public for the PATRIOT act, somebody please provide it.

The only people I know who really voice support for this nonsense are nanny state lovers because they are government employees or paid political hacks more than willing to trade conservative ideals, such as, smaller government, for a little profit.

Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh...GROW UP!

You don't even have the foggiest idea what the Constitution says, nor what the words contained therein mean.

Get someone to explain it all to you. Obviously, it is far too difficult a document for you to be able to grasp the meaning of.

WHAT "RIGHTS" HAVE BEEN RUN OVER, BY PRESIDENT BUSH?

Good post ..He sounds like a guy I know who , when asked the same question , danced around it untill he bitched about having to take off your shoes at the airport .Then I asked him when was the last time he flew ( I knew it was about 12 years ago ) That sure pissed him off. we're tapping phone calls from the enemy to US citizens..and thats destroying the Constitution.?No common sense. ok we'll get a court order to wire tap and wait 5 days to see where the call is going SMART VERY SMART

People do care about their Constitutional rights but are willing to let the government do things necessary to assure that terrorist thugs aren't hiding behind so-called constitution rights while planning to kill thousands.

I can't board an airplane with my Swiss Army knife.

Get a Leatherman Tool.

Can I get on a commercial aircraft carrying my Leatherman tool? Historically, Federal Aviation Administration guidelines permitted knife blades up to four inches long aboard domestic commercial flights. (Individual airlines were given the latitude to utilize more stringent rules at their discretion.) In the aftermath of the tragic events of September 11, 2001, the FAA has issued a series of new security regulations, including one referring to knives. Even with the changes in effect as of December 22, 2005, no knives (of any kind or size) will be allowed through security checkpoints. In other words, you can still travel with your Leatherman tool, but you will need to place it in your checked baggage rather than carrying it with you onto your plane. For the latest federal regulations, please visit www.tsa.gov

http://www.leatherman.com/customer-service/faq/default.asp

Beginning December 22, scissors with a cutting edge of four inches or less and tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches and pliers smaller than seven inches will be permitted on board. Scissors longer than four inches and tools such as crowbars, drills, hammers, and saws will continue to be prohibited from carry-on bags. Lighters will continue to be banned from the cabin of aircraft and in checked baggage.
