I'm glad Ebay changed their minds. There are enough unwanted animals in shelters in (just about everyone's) local areas. We all know how the unscrupulous would act if given the opportunity.
Unfortunately, puppy mills are alive and well in Japan, even in the chain stores. No one seems to know the answer to the question, "If nobody buys them, what happens to them?"

Hmmm. I spent several harrowing weeks last year placing a special-needs kitty, and the reach of e-Bay might have helped. OTOH, I can see the potential for abuse.
