THANKS SO MUCH FOR PROVIDING US WITH SUCH AN INFORMATIVE UPDATE!!!

My family and I sent Joshua a package full of clothing, books, and other goodies; we also sent Christmas cards (with gift/prayer cards) to the other soldiers.

I'm sooooooooooooo thankful that you and other appreciative/patriotic Americans have gifted these incredibly courageous HEROES with your time and love! AWESOME. JUST AWESOME!!

It's an honor to be able to personally thank those who have given so much. And it means even more when I'm speaking for others geographically removed.

Excellent, heart-warming, report and photos Coop. Warm thanks to you for reaching out to these fine soldiers.

Just a reminder to all. If anyone would like to send something to soldiers still overseas, this is a (IMO) excellent method:

Thanks for the ping Coop and Merry Christmas.

Bravo, Coop! Our Boy Scout Troop sent another 160 cards last week...I hope they're not stuck in a backlog in MSG Evans's office. ;o) Thanks for all you're doing for these heroes.

And thanks for the ping, Louie!

Great stuff, thanks for caring! I'm going to try to go out early Friday and help them make a dent in that backlog. :-)

BTW, no that doesn't make you the reindeer, St. Coop!

I've got two 15 year old girls going gangbusters in the kitchen. They confiscated my spatula in a friendly takeover. They got a little happy with food coloring in the icing. There isn't supposed to be any food coloring in the icing. LOL!

Good on ya. Any requests that they've made re: holiday yummies or such? FReepmail me and I can Priority Mail you anything they could use or eat.

Popular items are sweats, cigarettes/dip (i.e., Copenhagen), popcorn, beef jerky, and individually wrapped snacks that are easy to distribute (for example, a box of oatmeal pies can be opened so single pies could be distributed, while a 2-lb. bag of M&Ms cannot be shared - which I personally view as a positive, but for those on restricted diets...)

Also, there is a McDonald's close to Walter Reed. Folks might like receiving gift cards for the golden arches, to get a break from the food routine. Just a thought.

Really big guy?

Should I go looking for larger than 2X shirts after the holiday? They have 4-5X sometimes here in the outlets.
