I would contribute serious money to have those crime photos on billboards in LA above the caption, "Tookie Turned Their Lives Around Too."

You all really, really do need to see zombies photos, videos, and commentary-- all of it, not just the unaptly-named Tookie files, but the others as well:
http://www.zombietime.com/tookie/The Stanley "Tookie" Williams Vigil at San Quentin, Monday, December 12, 2005
http://www.zombietime.com/Photographs taken by zombie at events in the San Francisco Bay Area
In particular, seek out the photos of the "dicks not death," "breasts not bombs," the Lesbian Masturbators, and The Scrotum Inflator.
No, I am not kidding and I aplogogize for the bluntness but that's what they call themselves.
You really need to see what sort of extremists, manipulators, frauds, and fakirs plague some parts of the US.
These disreputable charlatans use, abuse, and manipulate America's laws and hospitality- but they are no friends of America, or Americans.

My mom always told me that if you can't say something good about the dead, then don't say anything at all.
"He's dead. Good."

Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

See Love, a teacher with the Los Angeles Unified School District, said she had seen firsthand the way Williams' book "Life in Prison" had changed students' lives. "Tookie's words were able to do what no judge or probation officer was able to do," said Love, 35. "I hope Stanley's spirit continues to live in the name of peace." Accoring to one site I remember reading Tookie's books are published by what appears to be almost a "vanity" publisher and, at least until his recent death-row publicity, had sold under 350 copies.

I support the death penalty but it has its flaws and our system needs some fixing. The left does have some space for legitimate criticism. What amazes me is that they are dumb enough to have their big death penalty cause cases be Tookie Williams a gang leader who is responsible for thousands of deaths, and Mumia Abu Jamal who is a cop killer with amazingly strong evidence against him. You think any intelligent movement would find better cases than that to use for their cause. Of the thousands on death row, surely they can find some with much shakier evidence, or much less putrid personal stories. But in this case like many others, the left is their own worst enemy. They really do make things easy for us conservatives in this country.

""Hundreds"? California has 35 million people, and "hundreds" turned out? I don't think this is the send-off the Hollywood whining liberals hoped for."
It may have been considered too dangerous for them with no prison guards around for protection. Such irony.
