Disgruntled Dems Consider Challenge to Lieberman

WASHINGTON — Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman may be some Republicans' idea of a good Democrat, but a growing number of fellow party members in his home state couldn't disagree more.

"It's at the point where he's no longer interested in his own party's opinion, he's really out of touch with reality," said Mitchell Fuchs, chairman of the Fairfield Democratic Town Committee in Connecticut. "For me, he's crossed the line a number of times."

Passions flared after Lieberman's recent trip to Iraq. Upon his return, the three-term senator pointed to what he views as progress on the ground there and suggested that Democrats should avoid harsh criticisms of President Bush's Iraq policy.

In turn, Republicans and administration officials, including Bush, used the senator's comments to bolster their case for war and underscore Lieberman's differences with other Democratic leaders on the issue. Republicans have since charged that Democrats lack a coherent, unified message on Iraq.

I thought Pelosi said the strength in the Party was that each individual had their own opinion. They don't have a party position. Makes me laugh

This goes to show how far out in left field the Democrats have become when they are actively looking to dump Leiberman an otherwise flaming liberal on a host of issues. I hope they finally fall off the cliff soon.

So, the democrats are going down the toilet, and their solution is to purge the few sane folks left in thier party???? Way to go guys!! KEEP IT UP!

Democrats are going the way of the Whigs.

This sounds like something Stalin would have said while ordering a liquidation. The RATS are all about 'the party' and nothing else.

well Lieberman is underminding the democrats unwritten rules of the party:
1. Deny deny deny
2. Do not let common sense and logic get in the way of your decisions
3. Party over country, always always always

it would be funny if it wasnt so true. how dare Lieberman speak his mind to help protect america instead jump on the pelosi bandwagon and bash bush at every turn.

I don't know about that. I'd rather he be an independant. Otherwise, he'd just be another RINO.

Maybe Joe is the one that's needed to reform the 'Dark Side' of politics.

I say leave him there, just to pi$$ them off!

I hope he gets re-elected with a huge margin.

I am amazed that they can even keep up with what they say each day. I guess it is easy when none of the MSM calls them on it or replays it for them and then everything is taken "out of context". I am amazed at the hate and evil that is inside these people.

The MSM will always ignore what the Dems have said in the past.

To them, it's like 'biting the hand that feeds you'.
