Carrying pitchforks, revolvers and pistols, 21 New Englanders came together in southwestern New Hampshire Sunday for the Second Annual UN Flag Burn. All smiles despite sub-freezing weather, most indicated they are members of NHfree.com, a local offshoot of the Free State Project.
Demonstrators focused particular scorn on the UN's repeated efforts to support gun bans around the world. But a more subtle goal is to re-inforce New Hampshire's Live Free or Die reputation, drawing additional freedom lovers to move to the state.
"This kind of thing helps get the word out," says activist Dave Ridley of Keene. "If you are a freedom lover, there's a party going on in New Hampshire, and you're missing it."
Since New Hampshire was chosen as a target for migration by the libertarian Free State Project, about 150 have moved and become increasingly vocal in the state's political process.

In this case, I blame the US Supreme Court. Their "symbolic speech" principle seems to apply only to burning American flags. In fact, that seems to be the one-and-only item of "symbolic speech" in the entire universe.
From a public safety point of view, I'd prefer not to see anything get burned. I'd have no objections to seeing a UN flag torn up, stomped on, and then tossed in the trash.
....and the Gorebots will still be having a hissy-fit throwing a temper tantrum and holding their breath til they turn bluer mand bluer and bluer........

Just wondering what would happen if I, as a German, would burn the flag of the European Union.
I have to find out ...
I think I really like these folks. Sight unseen.
Me too. Gotta love villagers with pitchforks  .

"Annual U.N. flag burn"
This is going to spread across the land!
Nothing new here...U. N. "flag burns" have been going on for a number of years, but they usuallytake place on October 24th, designated as "United Nations Day". Burn, baby, burn.
EXCELLENT!
sure is...gonna get me a UN flag and shoot a few hundred holes in it with my guns that the UN wants to confiscate.. ill then piss on it and procede to burn that SOB!
Better check that map again.

Wouldn't it make more sense to burn them in front of an IRS office?
isnt there one group that sponsors a perferate a blue helmet day? they have a bunch of blue helmets(un) and use them for target practice.
I'm not too sure about the pitchforks (too campy, like Frankenstein) but I fully support burning the UN flag!
this is so awesome.
/off to look for some pics.
"Gotta excercise that pedal franchise (voting with one's feet)."
Yesiree i did that myself two years ago fled Mass. At least up in NH there is a chance of conservatives winning statewide
"Democratic campaign operatives who flood across the border every election season. "
I agree with you here, Massholes were all over Derry from their Unions holding signs. My wife and i got fed up with all the Kerry signs so we went to BC04 headquarters in Derry got some signs and stood out there all day and half the night.
At the recent Crossroads of the West Gunshow here in Phoenix an exhibitor had a UN Flag "Welcome" mat in front of his table. It was looking pretty skuffed and dirty by the time I got to it. I normally would not show such disrepect to a flag. I momentarily stopped and assessed: "Do I really want to wipe my feet on the "sacred" symbol of this Godless totalitarian organization? You bet.
Now, if I can only find a UN Flag to cover my front door mat...
The problem with that is, the IRS only has offices in large cities and very few of them. Whereas post offices are located EVERYWHERE, meaning more people would be able to go.
