"To retreat before victory would be an act of recklessness and dishonor, and I will not allow it."

Mr. President , I could not agree with you more .
Thank you very much for so saying....

I also highly recommend reading the transcript of Vice President Cheney's speech to the troops in Iraq. He didn't mince any word about the importance of staying the course in Iraq.

How disgusting are the Democrats that they have behaved in such a way as to make it necessary for the President of the United States to HAVE TO SAY THAT?

I see a global terrorist movement that exploits Islam in the service of radical political aims

He drives me nuts with statements like this...

I don't know how they can look at themselves in the mirror.

"If you think the terrorists would become peaceful if only America would stop provoking them, then it might make sense to leave them alone."

"We will continue to listen to honest criticism, and make every change that will help us complete the mission."

That would leave out every single mainstream media report ever done on Iraq since the liberation.

By the way, how many "news reports" have there been criticizing the terrorists in Iraq? I have never read a single one.

===

Your point made me think, that the main reason President Bush had to give this address and make these points is not even as much for the American People, but for the sake of reassuring Iraq and our allies that we won't cut and run, and to give a warning to the terrorists, that despite their domestic allies, President Bush will NOT withdraw to let them take over. All that said, I agree with you, that it's a really sad commentary on the Democrats that President Bush had to make these points in his address to the nation.

This was a very impressive speech. He should not have to do it, but the President laid out a solid case for our policy in Iraq. Good job. That's why we pay him the big bucks :)

The lead on the A.P. story on this in this morning's local paper had President Bush "asserting" in Sunday's address to lthe nation that we are winning the war in Iraq.

They cannot bring themselves to simply print what the President stated. Anyone reading the A. P. story will have no idea of what the President really stated.

After over 30 years of Americans and American interests being under attack America is finally fighting back. It's so sad there is the necessity to convince the American people why we should.

Thank the lying, propagandizing, amoral, anti-American Democrat wanna-be socialists for this. But mostly blame those American people that do not take the time to do the research to look past the lies. Both these people may as well be passing the enemy the ammunition that is killing our military.

Well said, but I disagree that he should not have to make speeches like this.

He needs to make them and make them more often. He will never get fair treatment in the MSM getting his message to the people ... and not every American is a FReeper. :-)

Sorry, guess I missed the joke.
