Like it or not, Jesus is VERY political. Herod feared him

BULL PUCKY??? Do I know you? I thought I was the only person who uses that phrase.

He was indeed, but he did say render unto Caesar the things that were Caesar's. Jesus was especially political on moral matters, but then it was somewhat of a half theocracy then too. Jesus saved his harshest criticism for overzealous and arrogant Church leaders who conspired to stop the spread of the Gospel (no I'm not making comparisons--I don't think I can anyways).

Bull Pucky has long been in my family. I do think that it comes from our family's agrarian roots so to speak. I have picked up a couple of phrases like "Holy Cats" from other sources though.
