My first problem was 500,000 steps and it took about a week on my 2 gig AMD (it's my server so it runs 24/7).

My new problem is 3,5000,000 steps, I was floored when I saw it. But it is 10% through after 24 hr, so I'm not sure the number of steps is very relevant.

How do you tell the size of your wu? I have the frames completed of 3750. WU end is in March.

I will add 2 new XP systems tonight. Mine is 2800+, son's first is 3000+. Some time this week, I will run to the store for an additional ethernet and put a 3rd system on, XP 3200+. That one sits in son's room, so he will probably turn off at night.

I'm pretty sure that's the preferred deadline rather than an estimation of when it'll finish.

I just wanted to make sure you are aware, in case you didn't know, that you can run multiple computers under the same name

That's some serious crunching. The fastest system that I had added would do (maybe) two WUs in a day.

Eventually you will start to see larger WUs. Don't despair, it really drives up your point total.

Thanks for the ping. I now have two computers running it and am coming up in the rankings!

We're #1,417 of 41,762

A few more WUs and we'll be in the Top 1,400.

Keep folding guys! This team is moving up!

We are now # 1,399 thanks to several new folders in our group. I count 17 new folders with one work unit, including new comer VAcharonD1, who popped 600 points with his (her) first WU.

Thanks for all the enthusiasm, and remember:

It is not a sin to drop F@H onto a computer that you fix for free over Christmas.

I signed up the other day, may not be able to do much as it is only running on my laptop (AMD Athlon 4 1.2GHz), and only when plugged in.

Thanks for your contribution to the cause.

If your machine will not be running all the time, you might want to select the option that will download Work Units that do not have a deadline.

I haven't and won't be mostly because I'm pretty scattered brained about keeping track of who's who(and yes, I know, I'd put it on my homepage, it's an organizational issue with me, I'm horrendous at it). I'm one of those programmers that writes code in his head then spews it out days later, but I forget what the wife sent me to the store for after 5 minutes. I'll keep slamming extra boxes in as I can(2 more today). I'll tow the best I can, someone else needs to steer :).

I keep a ping list along with soccer_maniac. We have about 90 people on the ping list.

If we can get a few more fast systems online we can get into the Top 1000 this year, and Top 200 by fall. We are now passing all teams behind us but one.

LOL. I think your brain works the same as mine!!

Code written in your head always works better than what you let other people use. :-)

Question.... I added my third box,(each with it's own load of F@H, each runs independently, then through a router, firewall and modem), and now my work has slowed to a crawl. My main machine (fastest) has gotten nothing but 48 pointers, and its taking a day to do one of those. Any idea what could be wrong? I've googled for some hints, but can't find anything.

Please add me to the list. Thanks. If you need any help with it, LMK.
