SoldiersPrayingMom just phoned me in tears to report that Sgt. Greg Parkinson (jmpmstr4u2) had been injured in the explosion of an improvised explosive device.

The Department of Defense called Greg's wife, Tammy, to inform her of the injury just after midnight California Time. They told her that he had been evacuated to a field hospital, that he had all of his limbs, but that he has injuries in his left arm and back.

SoldiersPrayingMom requests all Freepers to pray for healing and complete recovery. Pray for his Mom and Dad, Ruth (SoldiersPrayingMom) and Jim Parkinson, Greg's wife, Tammy, and his two daughters who face uncertainties and fear for his condition. Greg and his family need all of your prayers and support.

     Have seen SoldiersPrayingMom on kayak's prayer list. Seems to have protected jmpmstr4u2's life. As someone sincere but weak in prayer, am relying on Romans 8:26-27 (paraphrased): "We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us in accordance with God's will with groans that words can not express."
     From Romans 8:31-39 (paraphrased): "If God is for us, who can be against us? Christ Jesus is at the right hand of God and is interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
     This injury will likely (and understandably) infringe on the Christmas season, but may these words from God settle peace in your hearts and bring a deeply meaningful sense of joy as you celebrate Jesus' birth.
