SoldiersPrayingMom just phoned me in tears to report that Sgt. Greg Parkinson (jmpmstr4u2) had been injured in the explosion of an improvised explosive device.

The Department of Defense called Greg's wife, Tammy, to inform her of the injury just after midnight California Time. They told her that he had been evacuated to a field hospital, that he had all of his limbs, but that he has injuries in his left arm and back.

SoldiersPrayingMom requests all Freepers to pray for healing and complete recovery. Pray for his Mom and Dad, Ruth (SoldiersPrayingMom) and Jim Parkinson, Greg's wife, Tammy, and his two daughters who face uncertainties and fear for his condition. Greg and his family need all of your prayers and support.

I will keep this brave soul in my prayers, as I do for all those who serve with him, and all our courageous troops.

One of my friends back in Iowa got back from his tours in Iraq in March of this year. One thing I remember vividly was his caring more about his fellow soldiers getting injured than his own safety. With that in mind, I will be saying another prayer for Jmpmstr4u2's fellow fighters. May the Good Lord hold them all close.

You had BETTER get used to the prayer requests...

I'm saying this very gently, please believe me. I saw wickedpinto's remarks and know to what you were responding. As someone who was saved as an adult, however, I can tell you that a response telling me that I had BETTER get used to some religious practice would have chased me even farther from salvation, as it makes the religion very nasty and unwelcoming. wickedpinto may need to be a subject of our prayers, too.
