If the U.S. is so imperialist, we must be pretty bad at it. We haven't pillaged much worldly goods and territories in the last couple hundred years, and we keep rebuilding all countries we "conquer" and leaving them to the "conquered."

That's true. They've been threatening this kind of thing for years. Only time will tell if it will amount to anything.
My money is on no, simply because the kind of people who are likely to be vunerable to the Salafist Islamic message are more than likely not all that effective to begin with. It might be a problem, but there is not point worrying about it too much.
