The Patriot Act is no where near dead. It will pass before the end of the year in one form or another.

The next time there's a major strike in this country (I hope he realizes that Las Vegas was on the original Atta hit list), he might regret ever having said this.

Harry Reid BOASTS that they killed the Patriot Act. Might as well boast that he's going to get Americans killed.

Before yesterday's vote, opponents of the legislation rallied around a front page article in Thursday's New York Times that reported Mr. Bush had secretly lifted certain limits on spying inside the United States. After more than a year holding the story, the paper decided to run it on the day of the Patriot Act vote. Interesting that this is the last line of the acticle. It should have been the headline.

In the end democrats and those who helped to emasculate our anti-terror protection will be responsible for more deaths than 9-11. If that door is not closed again we will all suffer the consequences. There has to be a re-instatement of the Patriot Act. The dems in their blind lust for power will do anything they can to cast aspersions on George W Bush. That is their only focus.

Bookmarking for future reference.
This is a huge mistake for the DemocRats. If a terrorist now slips through the cracks and launches a successful attack, it will be hung around their necks instantly, IMO.

Without doing what is necessary to get a handle on illegal border crossings and profiling muslims on various modes of travel, the Patriot Act does not mean all that much, anyway.
That being said, the only people who really had anything to fear from the Patriot Act were people who intended to do this country harm, and liberals.
And, yes, I know, based on past experience, that could very well be a redundancy.
