TOPICS: Miscellaneous
KEYWORDS: airamerica; iraq; iraqielections; lauraingraham; saddam; seanhannity; talkradio; whjj
The above was written by an Iraqi-born radio listener in Providence, RI. The woman she mentioned, Arlene Violet, is a talk host on WHJJ in Providence which used to be an Air America station. Here was my response:

> I listened to this person arlene violet. > She is not happy with election in Iraq. > This arlene does not liking of America in Iraq!

You and I agree on the positive steps that have occured in Iraq, with our soldiers helping to free the people from the dictator Saddam. Iraqis now can proudly vote and determine their future. Nationally syndicated talk host Laura Ingraham kept playing this cut from an Iraqi voter (living now in Michigan): "Anybody who doesn't appreciate what America has done and President Bush, let them go to hell!

-- Iraqi voter Betty Devisha.

However Arlene apparently disagrees. It's fortunate that we have freedom of speech in this country, and the freedom to debate. People can agree or disagree with her and we don't have a tyrant like Saddam to punish us for our opinions. maybe the best thing you can do is call her show and set her straight. Or don't listen. If nobody tunes in, she'll lose her job. Another talk host, Sean Hannity, says "You have the right to fire me every day". It's his responsibility to do an entertaining and informative show but if the listeners don't approve, he, too, eventually could lose his job.

So this is in effect another way of voting! :)

> My Iraqi brothers love the freedoms soldeirs of Americans > give us.

> I heard her today, why is she on the side of Saddam! > It is her words I swear . This whjj is agaist you the > liberators why?

Apparently (from his/her radio-info profile) Iraqiborn chooses not to display the email address, though you could reply to him/her on that board, I guess...

Well, as Rush likes to say, "feminism was created by and for ugly women"...or something along those lines.

She used to be a nun. It's part of the training.

Lord love a RINO. Miss Arlene Violet is the kind of leftist trash some FReepers insist we should support whole-heartedly because only THEY can win election in these states. If those are our REPUBLICAN alternatives, it's time to fold the party.

We have a female of m.e. extraction in the Detroit area named Terry Ahwal who is frequently published by local print media. Her message is the same, United States bad, tyrannical, bullies; Saddam good, peaceful, victimized by US good. I think they're part of a subset of women who like evil nasty men--Magda Goebbels worshiped Hitler, BS loves Clinton, Whormonica loved Clinton, Evita, Charles Manson's most fervent disciples.

Nice one, you do that yourself?

It's a shame that most of America & the world is only going to see the things that went wrong. That type of video is what the media should be reporting and people need to see.

One of Rush's Undeniable Truths of Life went,

"Feminism was created to give unattractive women greater access to the mainstream of society."

It takes the "purple fingers" of Iraqi voters to nullify
Arlene "Violet" :)

BTW I had said WHJJ used to be an Air America station. They
still run one show I think, Randi Rhodes; basically a year
after they went to AAR from conservatalk, the ratings tanked
and the program director said "Basically the Air America experiment is over". Franken and Springer were dumped in favor of local hosts (I don't know about the Franken replacement,
Howie Barte, but the woman who replaced Springer--Helen
Glover of Survivor fame--is supposedly on the right side
of the political aisle)

Recently someone went on a radio messageboard and said
"Providence needs a progressive talk station" and the reply
was "Duh, you had one (and in some respects still do)
and it bombed!"

Arlene Violet "remains outspoken on issues relating to the poor and disenfranchised" (from her bio on website)

You think she'd be glad that we're helping out the people
of Iraq! But of course we did it through war, naughty us.

Her "guests of the week" page hasn't been updated since May but past guests have included the following. It figured...
(though she had Gingich on, too...)

Political Analyst James Carville
Attorney General Janet Reno
Former First Lady, Hillary Clinton
Journalist Dan Rather ("I'd like to break THAT story...")

TV Journalist Eleanor Clift ("Eleanor, Gee! I think you're
swell, and you do the liberals well...")

No, a soldier posted it elsewhere and I told him I was going to sprinkle it around on various threads for him.

I do hope we do this great event pround by at least sending links such as this around to all our email list.

I wish Rush also would link to these types of videos as a regular feature. The DOD is putting out great stuff by soldier photographers as well; there's no shortage of material, only a shortage of "audience."
