Why should Senators care? They have 24/7 security for themselves, their place of work, their transportation, and their homes, as do their family members.

Unlike us normal people, we are expendable I guess.

Anything for a good write-up in the NYT.

"God forbid that there be a terrorist attack that could have been prevented by the Patriot Act after it has expired," Sen. Jon Kyl said yesterday after the Senate failed to overcome a filibuster of legislation that would have reauthorized the Patriot Act. "If that happens, those who have supported the filibuster will have to answer for it, and the American people will have a very hard time understanding what their objections were."

No, they will just blame Bush, and the media will be more than happy to oblige.

There is an option. Three month extension. Given the choice between the extension and lapse, which is better?

Well, thanks to these brainless pantywaists in the Senate, we now no longer have any way of staying ahead of the intel game vs terrorists. McVain and his cohorts in the rat party might as well just open up the CIA and the FBI to OBL and AQ right now. Just give them free entry and a passkey to all our nation's secrets. Why should we bother? No one is safe anymore. This vote today undermined the nation's security so badly, they might as well have fired a thousand nukes into all our major cities.

Way to go, dumbazzes!

Here's what HORSEFACE kerry would say, "Bush misled us into war with bad intel and so now we're going to vote to KEEP from getting any GOOD INTEL so we can give terrorists an escape route rather than catch them".

THEY MAKE ME WANT TO HURL!

Sounds like the Senators are busy following the John French Kerry "9/10" approach to terrorists and terrorism...

What that headline doesn't say -- and what Mr. Schumer obviously didn't read or care to mention -- is that the National Security Agency's program, started after September 11, monitors...

Schumer just wants another attack on New York so he can get more pork for his state. That and maybe the sympathy vote for Hillary.

Sens. Larry Craig, Chuck Hagel, Lisa Murkowski and John Sununu?

Will they vow to resign if another 9/11 occurs that the PA may have prevented?
