BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) A New Orleans lawmaker has been charged by Louisiana ethics officials of improperly using his position to help his legal clients, a conflict-of-interest charge that is one of three ethics violations alleged against state Rep. Arthur Morrell.
The other two charges allege Morrell, D-New Orleans, failed to timely disclose his representation of clients before state agencies.
A March 9 hearing has been set by the Louisiana Board of Ethics to decide if Morrell is guilty of the ethics violations and what fines, if any, are levied against him.
Morrell, who has a fax machine in his temporary Prairieville office as the only phone listing on his legislative Web site, did not immediately answer an e-mail asking for comment Friday. Directory assistance did not have a listing under his name in Prairieville.
The ethics board says Morrell violated state ethics laws in 2004 when he proposed a resolution in the Legislature asking the state Department of Health and Hospitals to modify its rules to help some mental health providers who ran into problems with the agency.

The Republican Culture of Corruption continues to make Democrats do bad things. ;-)
The only odd thing about this story is a Democrat is actually being charged. Democrats usually get away with this kind of crap.
More leftist morality. :)
Just more proof of the Democrat Party's Culture of Hypocrisy
Morrell will slam the race card soon.
A crooked NO Democrat? I never heard of that.
