I don't smoke in the house any more, because my bf loathes cigarette smoke, plus I'm trying to cut down. Do you remember years ago, there was a study done on why so many poor children had upper respiratory problems? They narrowed it down to cockroach infestations. Not smoking.I'm sure happy I am past all of this.
My hubby and I both smoked. Our daughter started smoking at age 16. She is now in her early 30's. Healthy as can be and still smokes as well as HER hubby.
There is no one to tell me that I can smoke around them in my own home. There would be war if there was. LOL!
California lawmakers suck. They banned smoking everywhere but still can't balance their budget with the cigarette tax dollars. Well! They shouldn't have both!

No, they shouldn't have both. Nor should smokers be the scapegoats for collection of money to pay for other peoples health care, (not smoking related) and everything else they need tax money to cover.
When a neighbors is unable to pay their taxes, you are not responsible for paying them for them. When a neighbors house is run down, you are not made responsible for fixing it up. Why are smokers made financially responsible for others health problems, when those health problems have absolutely nothing to do with people having smoked? The tax money collected from smokers goes to help fight AIDS, to fix roads, (which never seem to get fixed anyway) and for all sorts of other socialist pet projects. Moat of which, have no correlation to the smokers life! Hypocrisy at best.

I have two kids who smoke. It was a losing battle trying to hide my smokes and lecture them about how hard it would be to quit, how much money they'd waste, etc.
I found out my ex was buying cigarettes for the boy on visitation weekends. Several years ago, I lasted two months on the patch, strictly to keep cigarettes out of the house. I lasted two months.
However, what I do in my own home is my business. Tobacco is a legal product, and the government has no right to tell me what to do in my home. I kept all the windows cracked, even in winter, to make sure that fresh air was circulating though.
California is a lousy state to be in if you are A)conservative, B)religious, C)a parent, D)a smoker.
