OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) -- The state's Democratic chairman has apologized for a political gimcrack that parodied a popular Christian automobile adornment.
The fish-shaped magnet was posted for sale alongside other political paraphernalia last week on the state Democratic Party's Web site.
The magnet also bore the image of a cross and the word "hypocrite" over a background of flames. State Rep. Doug Ericksen, R-Bellingham, called it an "anti-Christian" symbol.
Paul Berendt, the state Democratic chairman, said he was surprised to find the item advertised on the Web site. He told The Seattle Times the magnet was not properly vetted and was removed from the party's site after less than 48 hours.
He apologized for offending anyone, and called the item embarrassing. "We didn't sell any of them, and we're not going to," Berendt said.
The fish magnet is copyrighted by a Mount Vernon company. Berendt said he was unsure of its meaning, but said he thinks it is aimed at "people who claim to be pro-life but are for the death penalty."

Earlier post on this said he apologized "If he offended anyone...". This is the new, modern non-apology apology where it isn't a blanket apology for bad behavior, but a lame partial apology to those offended. Just like the Durbin apology.

As a Christian, I am not surprised to see this. I agree with Cal Thomas--we should remember that our Kingdom is not of this world and that we should not expect those who hate God to act accordingly.
Actually, we still have a dusty book in our house. It's called a "dictionary." IIRC, it pre-dates the Internet.
Remember it is Democrats who put this up and it is Washington State Democrats who seem to hate God!
They may hate God, but they hate Christians in particular. They have "progressed" to put Christians in jail in Canada for speaking incorrectly about gay sex.
Now that might be dandy with you and Cal Thomas; but I want to work to defeat bigots so I don't have to watch Chrsitians being put in jail for saying sodomy ain't so great and leave my kids alone.
