The charges are minor. The details are sordid.
Four Minnesota Vikings players, including injured quarterback Daunte Culpepper, each were slapped with three misdemeanor charges Thursday stemming from an Oct. 6 boat party on Lake Minnetonka.
Authorities detailed a lewd party involving as many as 30 Vikings players, basing the charges on accounts from the crew of two Al & Alma's charter boats. The criminal complaints describe a raucous evening featuring strippers, lap dances and sexual contact.

It's too bad that this story will take away the limelight from Brad Johnson, who is doing a phenominal job as QB since Duante got hurt...
GO BEARS!
of course you've also noticed without Smut , I mean Smoot, and Daunte, they've done nothing but win.
I guess they forgot the old Viking knowledge of burning after pillaging and raping... gets rid of the evidence.
Ironic, isn't it? I haven't enjoyed a Viking's winning streak like this for years...
that's ok. it should end this weekend.
I'm predicting they do the thing they did all through the Denny years- 1st playoff game, then out.
There are two reasons why he (Eric) wasn't at that party:
1) He's married
2) HE WASN'T INVITED!!
LOL
Ain't this what Vikings do? Rape and pillage? In boats?
What's the problem here?
I was listening to AM1500 this morning and they said that the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office is still investigating. There could be additional charges.
Back when this story broke, there were allegatiions that the players may have broken federal law by having the prostitutes flown up here from Atlanta. Something about having crossed state lines to commit a crime. I got the feeling that Tom Heffelfinger (US Attorney) didn't find the evidence to charge certain players.
I am hanging my head in shameful agreement...
It was good while it lasted, though.
Weren't there photos/videotapes of, er - the "action" on the boat? I'm curious how the investigator was not provided this evidence.
Thank you for being such great role models for our children. With rampant steroid abuse, cheating, and self-glorification integral parts of the game today, we needed one more reason to leave the TV off on the weekends. Thank you for doing your part to destroy yet another American institution.
Am I missing something? What was illegal here? Is sex illegal now?
I am a Vikings fan. If the Vikes win the division, Johnson should be league MVP.
Do you know why (coach) Mike Tice wasn't there?
He sold his tickets.
If I were a parent nowadays, I would stress someone other than a professional athlete as a role model. I can't see how they ever got to be considered role models anyway.
You're right. I recall that a person (or persons) took still photos or had a videocamera.
I'm sure the pictures were accidentally "lost" during processing.

At his trial on lewdness charges in the infamous "Love Boat" incident, Daunte Culpeper hurt his case when
he fumbled with his words while testifying on his own behalf.
