Report: Blast Rocks Russia Nuclear Plant
Macon.Com & AP ^ | December 16, 2005
Posted on 12/15/2005 10:41:20 PM PST by jmc1969
MOSCOW - An explosion ripped through a smelter at a Russian nuclear power plant in the northern Leningrad region but radiation levels were normal, the RIA-Novosti news agency reported Friday.
The news agency, citing the state nuclear agency Rosenergoatom, said the blast occurred on Thursday. It said that the smelter was located on the territory of the plant's second unit.
Davey, bringing the nuclear bomb in, is the easy part, as most of the parts are already here.
The list of links on Terror that I posted on the other thread today, the first 2 links were missing nuclear.
As they say "everything has its price", and sad as it makes me, I will have to admit that we have a plenty of American born people who will do anything for a price......
To say nothing of the illegals and people who move here.
Keep in mind that Dr. Bill says that they can be built by anyone who has the machine shop experience, and could make a copy of a Volkswagon.......A simple project with the right training and tools.
Dr. Bill, expects the parts to come into America, thru the shipping crates that come to our ports.
Remember the simple drawings of the cargo ships and your numbers that led to cargo ships, but could "be called computer language".
5 million or less and you are in the cargo ship business, about the cost of a couple pounds of cocaine.
Laughing, as I try to imagine a TM'er making a mistake.
And here I thought we were fool proof.
Thanks for letting us know about the video and don't worry, you have been forgiven.
More than likely it is my turn next..........
Warm thoughts, for all the work you do.

Travel Warning
United States Department of State
Bureau of Consular Affairs
Washington, DC 20520
This information is current as of today, Thu Dec 15 2005 23:30:19 GMT-0800.
NEPAL
December 15, 2005
This Travel Warning is being issued to alert American citizens to ongoing security concerns in Nepal. The Department of State continues to urge American citizens to defer non-essential travel to Nepal. This supersedes the Travel Warning issued on June 24, 2005.
The Department of State remains concerned about the security situation in Nepal, and continues to urge American citizens to defer non-essential travel to Nepal. Travel via road in some areas outside of the Kathmandu Valley continues to be dangerous and should be avoided. On June 6, 2005 Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) members detonated a landmine underneath a crowded bus in the Chitwan district, killing or injuring over a hundred people. In addition, there have been attacks in the countryside involving foreigners. Maoist extortion of tourists along some popular hiking trails continues. Trekkers and other individuals who resist Maoist extortion demands are threatened, sometimes assaulted and risk being detained.
The Department of State also is concerned by the threat to the personal safety of Americans in Nepal posed by recent demonstrations. Political parties have indicated that they plan to continue to hold protests and/or mass demonstrations against the government. Protestors in the past have used violence, including burning vehicles, throwing rocks during street demonstrations, and burning tires to block traffic. In some cases, police have responded with tear gas and baton charges. Given the nature, intensity and unpredictability of these disturbances, American citizens are urged to exercise special caution during times when demonstrations are announced, avoid areas where demonstrations are occurring or crowds are forming, avoid road travel and maintain a low profile.
Maoist supreme commander Prachanda issued a press statement on July 1, 2004, threatening to use "more violent means" if peace talks with the Government of Nepal are not forthcoming or are unsuccessful. The U.S. Department of State continues to regard this as an ongoing statement of intent. The Embassy has periodically received information that the Maoists might attempt to attack or take actions specifically against U.S. citizens, particularly in regions of the country where Maoists are active.
On a number of occasions, Maoists have burned or bombed tourist resorts after the foreigners staying there were given short notice to evacuate. The Maoists also periodically detonate bombs within Kathmandu itself.
U.S. citizens are advised to avoid road travel outside the Kathmandu Valley unless they have reliable information that they can proceed safely in specific areas at specific times. During recent road closures, Maoist cadres have attacked commercial trucks, buses and private vehicles defying their blockades, sometimes killing or severely injuring drivers. In April 2005, two Russian tourists were injured when a bomb exploded on the highway near their taxi while driving east toward Jiri, Dolakha district. During announced road closures in the past, the Embassy received widespread reports of Maoists forcibly blocking major roads throughout the country, including roads to Tibet, India, Chitwan, Pokhara, and Jiri. During some closures, some districts were blockaded without warning. Maoists have forcibly blocked all traffic coming into and out of the Kathmandu Valley. U.S. citizens are encouraged to contact the U.S. Embassy in Kathmandu for the latest security information, and to travel by air whenever possible.
Because of heightened security risks, U.S. official personnel do not generally travel by road outside the Kathmandu Valley. All official travel outside the Kathmandu Valley, including by air, requires specific clearance by the Regional Security Officer. As a result, emergency assistance to U.S. citizens may be limited. Active duty military and Department of Defense contractors must obtain a country clearance for official and unofficial travel to Nepal.
The Department of State has designated the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) as a "Specially Designated Global Terrorist" organization under the "Terrorist Exclusion List" of the Immigration and Nationality Act and under Executive Order 13224. These two designations make Maoists excludable from entry into the United States and bar U.S. citizens from transactions such as contribution of funds, goods, or services to, or for the benefit of, the Maoists.
U.S. citizens who travel to or reside in Nepal despite this Travel Warning should factor the potential for violence into their plans, avoid public demonstrations and maintain low profiles while in Nepal. U.S. citizens are urged to register with the Consular Section of the Embassy by accessing the Department of State's travel registration site at https://travelregistration.state.gov or by personal appearance at the Consular Section. The Consular Section is located at the Yak and Yeti Hotel complex on Durbarmarg Street. The section can be reached directly at (977) (1) 444-5577 or through the Embassy switchboard. The U.S. Embassy is located at Pani Pokhari in Kathmandu, telephone (977) (1) 441-1179; fax (977) (1) 444-4981, website http://kathmandu.usembassy.gov. The Consular Section can provide updated information on travel and security.
U.S. citizens should also consult the Department of State's Consular Information Sheet for Nepal and Worldwide Caution Public Announcement via the Internet on the Department of State's home page at http://travel.state.gov or by calling 1-888-407-4747 toll free in the United States, or, for callers outside the United States and Canada, a regular toll line at 1-202-501-4444. These numbers are available from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday (except U.S. federal holidays).
Dr. Bill has the last few weeks said that when the nuclear blast comes it will not be "one blast, but several in different locations".
This is not the way he was saying it a few months ago.
He now begs people to learn how to take care of themselves, says there will be no Government help.
I don't think that people realize what it really means if there is a nuclear attack.
Do you recall the big blackout in New York? Maybe 4 years ago.
I was taken with the thread on it here and the photos of all the high class people who were sleeping on the sidewalks.
So I kept reading, it turns out that those were the residents of the fancy apartment houses, those with electric locks on the apartment house doors, and there was no way to even get into the buildings or out of them.
No elevators to the 20th floor.
Nothing was done to New York, it was done to a computer in Ohio, by a jihadi, if you want to believe what they posted.
There are some of us who think it was not an accident.
No Need to send me tinfoil, my Christmas Pinapple cake came from my sister, well wrapped in high grade tinfoil.......

Iranian ministers accused of human rights abuses By FT reporters
Published: December 15 2005 13:45 | Last updated: December 15 2005

Human Rights Watch has called on Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadi-Nejad
to
relieve the ministers of interior and information of their funcitons,
reviving allegations that they were involved in grave human rights
abuses
over the past two decades.
In a briefing paper released on Thursday, the US-based human rights
organisation says that in 1988, Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi, current
interior
minister, represented the ministry of intelligence on a three-person
committee that ordered the execution of thousands of political
prisoners.
It adds that, as deputy and designated acting minister of information
(effectively the minister of intelligence) ten years later, Mr
Pour-Mohammadi is also suspected of ordering the murders of several
dissident writers and intellectuals by agents of the ministry of
information.
In August, when President Ahmadi-Nejad introduced Mr Pour-Mohammadi to
the
Majlis (parliament), some deputies, including prominent conservatives
like
Emad Afrough, opposed the nomination for speculations about his role is
the
killings of intellectuals in 1998 when he was deputy intelligence
minister.
"Such background makes us shake," said Mr Afrough. Because of such
allegations, Mr Pour-Mohammadi narrowly won the vote of confidence from
the
parliament.
Human Rights Watch says Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei, the current
minister of
information, was a high ranking member of the judiciary over the past
six
years and a leading figure in suppressing press freedoms.
It also alleges that, as prosecutor general of the Special court for
the
Clergy, Mr Ejei led the prosecution of several reformist clerics and is
suspected of ordering the murder of Pirouz Davani, an Iranian dissident
and
activist allegedly kidnapped and killed in 1998 by agents of the
ministry of
intelligence.
Akbar Ganji, an investigative journalist who is still in prison for his
allegations about the senior clergy's role in serial killings, alleged
in
his trial five years ago that Mr Ejei issued the death sentence for Mr
Davani. Mr Ejei has refused to address the allegation.
The Majlis, however, did not raise any such claims about Mr Ejei, but
rather
gave him an absolute majority of support. The Human Rights Watch
briefing
cites information from the memoirs of Ayatollah Hossein-AliMontazeri, a
prominent cleric and critic of the regime who was in 1988 one of the
highest
ranking government officials in Iran and the designated successor of
Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, then the supreme Iranian leader.
The Ayatollah says the principal role (in determining which prisoners
to
execute) was played by the representative of the ministry of
information
(intelligence) everywhere and others are effectively under his direct
influence.
According to Human Rights Watch: "Ayatollah Montazeri identified
Mostafa
Pour-Mohammadi as the representative of the ministry of information in
charge of questioning prisoners in Evin Prison and saw him as being a
central figure in the mass executions of prisoners in Tehran.
HRW calls on the government to highlight the abusive records of the two
cabinet ministers. It also raises concern over an alleged continued
crackdown against dissident writers and activists. During the past two
months, says HRW, the ministry of intelligence has summoned and
interrogated
at least ten journalists and newspaper editors, warning them not to
criticise the new government.

Iranian Rockets Will Soon Be Able to Reach Berlin (Iran gets missile parts from North Korea, China)
Bild Zeitung (In German) ^ | 17-12-2005 | Einar Koch
Posted on 12/16/2005 12:28:23 AM PST by 12B
My translated synopsis:
Bild Zeitung quotes BND (German Intelligence) sources saying Iran has purchased 18 kits (BM-25 Mobile missiles) from North Korea. The kits could help extend the range of its Russian SS-N-6 missiles to 3500 km, the distance between Teheran and Berlin. Previously it was only known that Iran had Shehab-3 missiles with a range of 1300 km. The BND warns that Germany and other partzs of Euriope could be threatened mid to long term by Iran's new first strike capabilities.
The BND has intelligence indicating Iranian scientists are working intensively to attach nuclear warheads to its missiles. Near Täbriz, 600 km North of Teheran, the BND has located a test-pad for silo based missiles.
The BND also warned that China had shipped aluminum rings to Iran which could be used to build multi-stage rockets with a range of 10,000 kn and which could reach the United States.

"Irishman sought in fake-notes case"
By Jerry Seper
THE WASHINGTON TIMES
December 16, 2005
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "U.S. authorities formally will seek the extradition of the head of the Irish Workers Party, who was arrested in Northern Ireland in October on suspicion of conspiring with North Korean government officials to distribute $28 million worth of high-quality counterfeit $100 bills.
Sean Garland and six co-conspirators are accused in a federal grand jury indictment handed up in U.S. District Court in Washington of obtaining quantities of the counterfeit bills known as "supernotes" from North Korean officials that later were passed as real or resold in Britain and elsewhere.
Mr. Garland, 71, is chief of staff to the Official Irish Republican Army, or the remnants of the old IRA after a split in 1970, when many members left to form the Provisional Irish Republican Army."

Thank Cindy for the ping to this...and good morning. IIRC we had discussions on threats to the canals back within the beginning threads of the TM. I think that at one point the Suez was closed due to a tanker explosion...and we had a good amount of info. on the traffic that travels these canals and how important they are to import/export routes. When I have the time I will be looking deeper.
Thanks for the new thread Ian. I hope you are doing well in grad school! BTW can you claim TM experience for a grade!? LOL! We would all give you an "A" for the wonderful job you do getting these new threads started and adding the links and info. we need at the beginning.
Thanks granny for this post and amen. Special thanks and prayers for our troops in Iraq, who help with the "historical" elections.
