Until 1975, almost all were Maronites or Christian Lebanese. They prospered here, married into the local community and, within two generations, became largely indistinguishable from the Australian mainstream.

It isn't about Lebanon, it is about islam. I have an uncle who was a Lebanese Christian. He was a Christian first and American second and Lebanese a distant third. Not so with muslims...they are muslims first, second, and third (if they are true muslims).

A fairly good friend of mine is from Serbia, he is also Christian. People from these countries KNOW how futile tolerance of Islam is.

I have a business where one of my customers is a Lebanese Christian MD. They are the most gracious family in my school. The children speak 6 languages. They love America, hate Syria, and wish they could visit Isreal if they could. Those are the immigrants all countries want.
