Asked about his press release saying that the suspects had been arrested on terrorism-related charges, Tancredo said, "We shouldn't have been probably so definitive in that, and I'm sorry we did that. I take responsibility for that."

Nevertheless, Tancredo said, the data are the first evidence that people in the country illegally are being investigated for possible terrorism connections.

"They have come across the border illegally," he said. "If we can prevent them from getting here, we're a lot better off. We're a lot safer."

Couldn't post this part could you?

All this animosity towards Tancredo and his message tells me the OBL's on FR really are afraid of him.

The point is that Tancredo doesn't care about protecting American, he is using the illegal immigration issue for his personal advancement and publicity.

His vote on the "Terrorist Protection Bill" demonstrates this conclusively.

While on one hand he makes a big deal about terrorists coming in as illegal immigrants, in the same breath he votes to protect the terrorists.

With tancredo's vote for giving aid to terrorists, I think that Travis's standard answer is called for.

Oh, pshaw.... What crap -- if you don't like Tancredo, you're an "OBL?" Silly, and stupid.

Actually, Tancredo's quote is positively damning -- of him. He's basically saying "I lied to make a point." The problem is that Tom seems to do that a lot -- and thus he chips away at the credibility of a real issue.

Tom should learn to shut up. As it is now, he's simply giving people a chance to dismiss a real problem as just "another one of Tancredo's rants."
