Yeah... Another Conservative (R), like Arnold.
John Campbell was one of the original authors of SB 1, the Million Solar Roofs legislation to spend billions subsidizing intstallation of solar panels, a technology that is not economically feasible at this point. During his campaign in 2000, he said " illegal immigrants should be given the same benefits as everyone else." When called on his support for illegal immigrants during the recent Congressional Election (voting for in-state-tuition fees for illegal immigrants and matricular consular cards), he said he was "fooled." (See here for quotes)
More "Conservatives" like John Campbell don't help much.
bump
On the All-Madden Team?
Thanks for the info "from someone that knows"-I'm not a CALI resident so I just go on the info I find, his interview on TH was-ON SPOT-conservative, but you are right-Actions speak louder than words ;)!
Nobody ever wants to tip their hand as to what questions they are asking, what they know, or what they might be thinking. Even after the fact, pollsters and consultants don't want to reveal their unique "tricks of the trade." Democrats and leftists are evil but they are not dumb. Good consultants are like the cold war intelligence agencies. Much can be gleaned from the assemblage of many little seemingly innocuous bits of information. So the best thing to do is not release anything -- ever (unless it suits your purposes).
Those numbers would be really useful.
You're welcome. I think Campbell will have a hard time when the time for a real primary comes up. As it was, he couldn't get 1/2 the vote, even when pre-annointed by the country club group, in a heavily Republican district, and a very favorable media. From what I've seen, he's a whiny (not-so-likeable) kind of guy. Time will tell. I think he has to go up for reelection next year.
Well that's more or less what they do when they release "private polling numbers" -- especially when it suits their purposes. I don't know if anyone has ever used it to create disinformation -- that's always a dangerous game.
Election results in Illinois:
Unelectable Ultra Right-Wing Kook Alan Keyes: 1,390,690 votes
Nice Sensible, "Socially Moderate" RINO Judy Baar Topinka: 1,323,902 votes
This person is right, but I'm damned if I'm interested in hearing advice to Republicans from jackoffs who shy away from identifying themselves from the party -- especially if it's advice to be more conservative. If you aren't in the party, you won't influence it, and that's as it should be.
