WASHINGTON, Dec. 14 /U.S. Newswire/ -- House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today in response to President Bush's speech on Iraq at the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington:
"I am pleased that Iraq appears to be moving towards democracy, as indicated by tomorrow's upcoming election. However, democracy is not the reason that President Bush gave for invading Iraq more than 1,000 days ago. President Bush asserted that Saddam Hussein presented an imminent threat to the security of the United States, a threat that could only be reduced by going to war. The president was wrong.
"How much further would we be in the effort to defeat Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda, who perpetrated the attacks in the United States, Africa, and the Middle East, if President Bush had not allowed the focus of the war on terrorism to be diverted by invading Iraq? How much progress could we make in keeping the world's most dangerous weapons out of dangerous hands if we were not spending $5 billion a month in Iraq?
"The president claims that there are more than 200,000 trained and equipped Iraqi security personnel. Although many political and stability challenges remain, those are challenges for the Iraqi people to address. There are ways for the United States to make Iraq more stable that do not require 160,000 U. S. troops in Iraq and which would make the American people safer and the Middle East more secure. The president should recognize that fact and send that message to the American people and the Iraqis."
Would someone PLEASE take her copy of the liberal play-book away from her...and take her copy of the Communist Manifesto too.
She is a political whore....just pay her off and tell her to get lost.
Pelosi Joins People of Faith in Denouncing Immoral Republican Budget

WASHINGTON, Dec. 14 /U.S. Newswire/ -- House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today commending people of faith who spoke out today in peaceful protest near the U.S. Capitol and in more 30 locations across the country against the immoral Republican budget:
"Today, hundreds of faithful Americans descended on Capitol Hill in peaceful protest to stand up for working Americans, our children, the poor, those still hurting from Hurricane Katrina, and our elderly. In the freezing cold, in prayer and song, they called the Republican budget what it is -- a moral failure, empty of spiritual hope and nourishing resources.
"This mean-spirited Republican budget takes food from the mouths of hungry children, cuts housing for Katrina evacuees, reduces support for our veterans, and fails to adequately provide health care for our elderly; all to provide tax cuts for millionaires. I stand with those faithful who stood in the cold today proclaiming how this budget fails to work for all Americans.
"I commend Reverend Jim Wallis and the pastors and church workers from across our country who marched on our Capitol. I join them in prayer for those less fortunate. I stand with them in the struggle for a budget that lives up to our American values of fairness and opportunity. Together, America can do better than this failed budget being hoisted on the backs of the vulnerable. Democrats will continue to fight for a moral budget that is worthy of our great nation."

So, I'll try to summarize Nancy Pelosi's concept of "faith":
"We want money, homosexuality, homosexual marriages and abortions on demand."
Morroooons!
Soon they will be protesting darkness at night (Bush's fault), too much Sun during the day and too cold during global warmint!
