I don't know the history of this abomination. Which party gave birth to it in the first place? That would be the party worthy of most of the blame.

The AMT was enacted in 1969 so we can pretty much figure who pushed it through back then.

But, BOTH parties are responsible for not getting rid of this crap. They are so involved with trying to screw the other party that they do not have time to take care of these types of important issues.
