Our very own FReeper "Doctor ZIn" is now involved in a very important online contest between HIS website "Regime Change IRAN", and the equally well-respected "IRAQ the Model."BOTH have been nominated as finalists for the "Best Middle East blog" in the Annual Weblog Awards.
As Doctor ZIn posted on a previous thread:
www.WEBLOGawards.org
Earlier today I wrote the folks over at Iraq the Model, last year's winner of the weblog award and current leader in the polls. So, since "Iraq the Model" won LAST year...
I told them that I admired their work and was therefore frustrated that we are "competitors" in the weblogawards.
They [the folks over at Iraq the Model] wrote back, almost immediately:"I want you to know that I'm a big fan of your blog and I check it almost everyday!
I'm also in support of freedom for the people of Iran who deserve real democracy and true liberty.
Honestly, if your blog wins the title, I will be just as glad as if it were my blog."
...and since the elections in Iraq show that tremendous progess is being made over there -- in spite of DNC/media reports to the contrary......and since Doctor ZIn is a FReeper...
...and since Iran is currently governed by a MAD MAN......and since "Iraq the Model" is O.K. with "Regime Change Iran" winnning THIS year:

Got your ping,Vote for the DOC every 24
LOL!!
I was able to pry her away from her BeJeweled game which is a minor miracle in itself...
Fellow FReepers, I really dislike off-topic pings but this is one I believe to be important. Situation: my wife lived in Iran, speaks Farsi and based on background that stems from those two simple facts, ongoing events in Iran lead me to believe that Iran is going to figure quite significantly --perhaps surprisingly to the good if cards are played right-- in the news/events of 2006. (And in case you wondered at my tagline, "Iran Azadi" translates as "Free Iran.")
DoctorZIn's blog Regime Change Iran is far from an insignificant effort in bringing the realities of Iran to the U.S.: his blog presents a lot of information most Americans would not otherwise have... because the press ignores Iran, the high regard your average Iranian has for Americans, the ongoing (apparently mass) conversions of Iranians to Christianity under pain of death, and the desire of the people for the deposition of their Arab-supported rulers for democratic self-rule instead. I ask for your votes for his blog, to give it in the blog-world the presence it, and the silenced people it speaks for, deserves.
Yours for a free Iran,
-sionnsar
Ok Doc, you got my vote because I respect your optimism about Iran.
That you are even close to ITM is a great endorsement imo, I check it daily and value it highly.
I will study your blog more when I have time.
Good luck!
Voted, feel free to remind me to do it again....
It's done.
Just voted again. Apparently it's finally been 24 hours since my last vote.
Thanks!
Another day, another vote :)
Thank you for these daily reminders.
Just voted for today!
For some reason the world media has largely ignored his statements against the USA. In his speech he said:
We are in the process of an historical war between the World of Arrogance [i.e. the West] and the Islamic world, and this war has been going on for hundreds of years. ...
The issue of this [World without Zionism] conference is very valuable. In this very grave war, many people are trying to scatter grains of desperation and hopelessness regarding the struggle between the Islamic world and the front of the infidels ...
Is it possible for us to witness a world without America and Zionism? But you had best know that this slogan and this goal are attainable, and surely can be achieved...

I hope you can see why this work is important.
Just voted...
Omar never even mentioned this vote at his blog until today.
The Iraq the Model are great guys doing a great work.
But people still don't understand that our success in Iraq will liking depend on how we deal with the terror masters of Iran. They will keep trying to destroy our work there as long as they are in power. Only a regime change in Iran will bring peace to the Middle East and our world.
That is why we spend the time we do to educate the world of the need for regime change in Iran and this award will help immeasurably in spreading the word.
But you are correct, Iraq is nearly solved, time to lift an eye to the next great danger...the Mullahs.
I voted. :)
