An upcoming ABC TV special promises to take an in depth look at the subject of heaven.
Anchored by Barbara Walters, and titled Heaven. Where Is It? How Do We Get There? a news release from ABC says the program will explore the meaning of heaven with religious leaders of the major faiths, scientists, people who say they believe in heaven because theyve been there, and celebrities who are vocal about their beliefs. Show producers even talk with terrorists.
According to the news release, Walters takes viewers on a journey around the world to India, Israel and throughout the United States. She interviews people of different religious and scientific beliefs, each with strong opinions about the afterlife. They discuss their visions of heaven, what happens to the body, and why it is important to believe in heaven.

So I guess us preachers can all retire now that Walters has explained this?
You are correct, sir.
Barbara, how about you and the other nitwits on The View go visit heaven for us?No need to report back. Just your absence will make our present life a little more heaven like.
LOL! She was unintentionally funny in the promos.
For Barbara, heaven is best described as a second term for Hillary. I don't think I will watch.
Catholic teaching is that we are judged at death (the particular judgement) and that this judgement is made "public" at the Last Judgement.
There's one thing about her theory that bothers me. As I understand it, the brain can't regenerate itself. That means it would remain in whatever stage of its death permanently.
So if it's all merely a brain function, then these people couldn't "come back" with the same mental capacity as they had before, and whatever they experienced would be permanent until they day they died. Neither of which is the case.
A Jewish woman who admits to having no religious upbringing in her life, working in an industry which openly scoffs at God and citizens from the red states, is going to tell me the secrets of getting into heaven? Spare me!
Correct. That is what I am saying....
there is no time element. (Check out Philipians)
For other commentators..there is no "general judgement". Salvation will be determined by ones faith in Jesus Christ. If you believe in Jesus as the risen Son of God who gave His life that you might inherit eternal life, you are heaven-bound. If you reject His sacrifice, one second after your eyeball slam shut, you will be in literal hell as repeatedly described in the Bible.
When we get to heaven it is not going to be a communist arrangement. Each person will be judged according to his works and rewarded, tried by fire, and whether wood, hay, stubble,(they burn) or gold, silver, or brass (they are refined by fire) but the same shall be saved. It will not be a place of share and share alike. Some of the little grandmothers who were never lauded and given high esteeme of men and are of great faith will be giants (spiritually speaking) in heaven, and some of the 'preachers',if they make it there, will be so far in the back of the place you will need a ladder to see them.
Barbara Walters is going to tell us about the "broad way" and "broad gate" that leads to .......What I have spoken of is the narrow gate.
We tivo'd this show and watched it last night...it was very, very interesting...I thought. Anyone else have any views? That Dali Llama seems like a crack-up! Kinda funny guy, huh? The scariest, of course, were the suicide bombers. this year I have heard more people say all Jews should be dead than all the years of my life combined. It's getting very, very scary out there, don't you agree?
Not really. There is nothing new in the world. There have always been and always will be Jewhaters. What is scary are the appeasement Jews like Spielberg and Tony Kushner, and other liberals who hate Bush more than they hate terrorists. These people scare me. They would sacrfice everything that we hold dear to hand GWB a political defeat. The Jewish people, America, Israel, nothing is sacred to these characters.
Also, Barbara Walters is a boob. I heard Rush talking about this show during the week, playing clips, etc. That was enough for me.
I find it very difficult to see how Barbara Walters became famous for interviewing. It seems her claim to fame is hypeing herself. Looney questions to go with softball probing.
every "freakshow" looney left organic pot smoking invented pseudo religion is laying claim to this time of year as a pagan right.
This is like the convicted felon commie who created kwanza and now the anti-christmas forces are basically advocating ANYTHING BUT CHRISTMAS holiday season.
Essentially "Christ" is a four letter word.
What did he say? I thought the show was interesting..how different religions view heaven...there was no agenda...it was a good show and actually ... very pro religion...why is everyone so upset?
by the way you missed a very interesting show. If you're talking about the suicide bomber..he didn't say anything we didn't already know. And I think it's important for people to hear it...how much they want to kill us. There was no sympathy for him...it was just scary and showed just how sick those Palestinians are.
Babs' idea of heaven is El Commandante scoping out her rack. |
