I am looking for a text copy of the email that was read on the Rush Limbaugh show. Something to the effect, this is our country, if you don't like it... get out.

While we're looking, how do you like Paul W. (sub host today)? Been listening to him in Detroit on WJR-AM 760 for years. He's an intelligent conservative who doesn't mince his words. He gets first dibs on many interviews about Michigan issues. He has the perky Jennifer G., Kid Kwami and Fearless Feiger on regularly.

I'll bet somewhere there is a transcipt for the show. If you can find it, then you'll have you letter. I don't know where it is.

I heard it. The piece fairly well expresses the growing frustration of many, I'd bet, most, Americans regarding speaking English, adapting to, if not actually adopting, the American customs, mores and traditions that have evolved in our [+/-] 225 year history would endorse the text. It rejects the concept that we refrain from those things with which we grew up to adulthood and to which are accustomed in various seasons like Christmas in order to placate others who feign offense.

It has a lot with which to agree without the intervention of heavy-duty socio analysis or rationalization. It's one of those rare times when the simple, easy and brief question and answer are correct. One example, that while wrong in its premise, is correct in its purpose and intent. The writer condemns the ''X'' in Xmas as a secular insult and uncordial approach to Christmas. That ''X'' has a theological basis in Christian history that is meaningful and is not an insult or a nickname. I don't know beans about theology but our pastor spoke of it last year and explained its origin.

That said, the piece is worthwhile and much better presented by today's substitute host that Herr Limbaugh of whom I think very poorly and discount virtually his every assertion and conclusion.

We are now one of the largest Spanish-speaking nations in the world. We're a major source of Latin music, journalism and culture.

Just go to Miami, or San Antonio, Los Angeles, Chicago or West New York, New Jersey ... and close your eyes and listen. You could just as easily be in Santo Domingo or Santiago, or San Miguel de Allende.

For years our nation has debated this change -- some have praised it and others have resented it. By nominating me, my party has made a choice to welcome the new America.

George Bush from a campaign speech in Miami, August 2000.

Assimilation is not necessary or even desired in the "new America".

Today's host is the best ever. I like his style of conversing with the callers and I like his commentary.

Nice to have the Chairman of GM on too......and they're on a first name basis.

Very impressive.

Anyone have a text transcript of the email that he read? I loved it, and want to post it on my wall.
