KINGFISHER, Okla. -- An outbreak of geysers spewing mud and gas into the air in rural Kingfisher County is puzzling state and local officials.
Kingfisher Fire Chief John Crawford says initial reports of the geysers came in Friday morning, and that firefighters and Oklahoma Corporation Commission officials were on the scene yesterday.
The geysers have appeared throughout the countryside of rural Kingfisher, with stretches of up to 12 miles between spots, and some as short as a quarter of a mile.

Once a sewage line leak was mistaken for a mineral water spring. Same here?
We're doomed! We're all doomed!
Is this the same place where, back in the 60's, people started losing all their mail, when the town trash cans were re-labled "PLACE LITTER HERE"?
Kinda reminds me of the oil scene on the coast of California. Oil seeps up from the bottom of the ocean and washes ashore. There's also at least one place where oil seeps out a cliff by the shore. Still the enviro whack-jobs don't want drilling, because it will ruin the coastline.
Sounds like some natural gas reserves in Oklahoma need to be tapped. The land owners could make some handsome income off those it would seem.
The bitter loser of the Kingfisher Chilli cook off said, " You haven`t heard the last of me!"
We've been talking about it over here, too:

So that's where Congress has built the new underground bunker. Sounds like Teddy Kennedy has already taken up residence.
Edgar Casey...check him out...
Earth changes?
Edgar whozawhatzit? Doesn't ring a bell. A little help, please.
That's a tough problem. I guess all of the producing wells in the area will have to be checked for casing leaks. If they get lucky, they'll find one and Halliburton (or somebody like 'em) will fix it in a jiffy.
If they don't find a casing leak anywhere, then there's always a chance that the gas is migrating from a deeper zone below into a shallow freshwater sand in an old, plugged well. If so, then I don't know how you'd find the problem well and I don't know the procedure for fixin' it.... short of drilling it out and plugging it again.
It may have to blow a while.
Shifting magenetic north pole...stark climate changes in the EU...and long dormant activity resurfacing in the midwest...
I'm not saying it is...just saying..."gee...alot of stuff he said will happen is starting to happen..."
Worth keeping an eye on...
Ah...sorry
Edgar Casey was a 20th century Christian scientist and some say...a profit...
