Well if taxes were no so high in this country perhaps they would stay. Conversely if tariffs were higher they might not want to leave! but without the magic of free trade how would we function... Besides we are not entitled to any job period.
Nor is Whirlpool entitled to freely export jobs to Mexico so they can send crap back here sans an import tax...

Yeah, they would probably decide to shut down operations completely at some point. The same jobs would be lost, and the supply of washing machines would decrease. Higher prices and fewer jobs . . . well, if that's your idea of a good economy, thank God you're not doing anything important.

Oh I see you believe people are entitled to a job, and you are willing to use the force of government to force a company to comply. I just do not subscribe to that view if we wish to be truly free. I will acknowledge that tariffs do preserve jobs. However, it hurts companies overall bottom line.
See the problem is government and not the companies. Salaries was the final straw so to speak. Perhaps if the government lowered the taxes and had less regulation, then we would not have this issue? Just my two cents.
