"Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger refused Monday to spare the life of Stanley Tookie Williams" Should read...
The Gov.... Upheld the rule of law and honored the jury system.
The California Supreme Court has denied Stanley "Tookie" Williams latest request for relief which was filed Saturday morning.
Without a grant of clemency by California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, he will be put to death late tonight (12:01 am Tuesday.)
Memo to Arnold: Clemency is about mercy. It is an act of grace. You have the opportunity to stop a needless killing. Tookie's execution will not bring the victims back. It will not heal. The welfare of the people of California is best served by the message clemency would send -- one of hope to the tens of thousands of disadvantaged young people your administration has professed to care so deeply about. A denial of clemency will send a message of despair.
You hold a human life in your hand. We've seen enough killing. Please choose life for Tookie.

Justice prevails in the land of the FRee. Now this is why I spent 12 years in the militery. Thank You Govenator for making it all worthwhile....
I won't judge Tookie's heart but the law has judged his actions. Appropriately so.
Thanks are due to Governor for being steadfast in upholding the rule of law.
I wonder how many people have died because of the creation of the Cripps gang? This man is responsible for more than 4 deaths thats for sure.
The compassion your action demonstrated to the victims' families is appreciated.
Here's the bottomline.
If Tookie truly redeemed himself and is in good standing with God, when he's executed he will get into heaven.
Paradise will be better than life in prison, he should be thankful.
If Tookie has not redeemed himself in the eyes of God we all know where he's going and so does he. I guess you would rather put it off for awhile and stay in prison.
Modified from the Howie Carr Show:
Good news/bad news day for Tookie. He got a call of support from the Governor. Tookie was given clemency. Unfortunately, it was from Governor Dukakis.
Governor, I apologize. I thought you would let the murderer stay in jail for life. You are da man!
