Agreed. As a Catholic I do not support thre death penalty. The position of the Holy CHurch is clear on this. Even for an animal such as this. Put him on a chain gang and let him rot.

As a Catholic I do not support thre death penalty. The position of the Holy CHurch is clear on this. Too bad it took several millions lost in lawsuits to take a stand on Pedophilia!

Even as an atheist, I do not support the death penalty. I do not grant any human being the right to decide when another human will die.

Agreed. As a Catholic I do not support thre death penalty.I think the death penalty is overused. However, if someone has killed on multiple occasions and remains a lethal threat to guards or other prisoners, executing them, IMO, saves lives and is a pro-life stance.

As a Catholic I do not support thre death penalty. The position of the Holy CHurch is clear on this. In your opinion, what is the proper relationship between Catholic doctrine & the actions of American government? In other words, why should your personal moral & religious opposition to the death penalty have any bearing on public policy?

Actually the Church does leave a door slightly ajar on this issue. Personally, as a Catholic, I also am against the death penalty, but I can empathize with those on the other side. Many of them would switch however, if prisons incorporated my description of a "life sentence".
Put the animal in a cage and weld it shut.

As a Catholic I do not support thre death penalty. The position of the Holy CHurch is clear on this. Thank you for sharing. This is also the same Holy Church that advocates for illegal immigration and wants the U.S. taxpayers to support Mexico's poor, right? The same Holy Church that opposes pedophilia too, eh?

As a Catholic I do not support thre death penalty. The position of the Holy CHurch is clear on this.Actually, the position of the Holy Church is often misrepresented.
While it IS true that the Church currently discourages the death penalty in favor of incarceration/rehabilitation, It stops short of endorsing an absolute ban.

Innocent life. Thats the distinction. Do you propose that police officers shouldn't carry deadly weapons?

I'm not a Catholic but it wouldn't bother me to abolish the death penalty. I just never have had strong feelings about it one way or the other.
