I think the death penalty is overused. There's been about 400,000 murders in the U.S. since the death penalty was reaffirmed a quarter century ago. Since then we've executed only 1,000 murderers. By what calculation do you think that the death penalty is somehow overused?

Also, there have been over 100,000 murders in the USA since 1999 alone.

By what calculation do you think that the death penalty is somehow overused? I think it needs to be reserved for those who show they are a continuing danger, and not against those who commit stupid crimes and who are remorseful and not likely to kill again.
