A man breaks into your home and has a knife at your child's throat. He has done no physical harm yet. Any father or mother, at the right opportunity, would shoot him to save the child. So, you would shoot and kill him before he did any physical harm. No judge, no jury, no appeal process. But if he killed your child, thus doing the ultimate physical harm, you would not want him put to death. With a judge, with a jury, with an appeal process.
I don't understand. He dies at your hand before he does physical harm. That's okay. But he won't die at the state's hand after he commits murder. Sorry, but I just don't get it. He has more due process with the state after murdering than you gave him before he murdered.
I agree.
Are you a musician?
Romans 13:2-4
"Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? Do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil."
Whoever resists his local government, resists the plan of God! Whenever you meet a policeman, you shouldn't fear him (if you are a law-abiding citizen), but rather enjoy the sense of security that he is there to protect you. But, if you are a lawbreaker, you should feel terror, because God has ordained that he bring you to justice. We've lost that! Our young people have lost all respect for authority. Criminals know that statistics show that 70% of them can get out of jail within eight months of their conviction, so they have no fear of the authorities. The only thing that holds the fabric of society together, is a healthy fear and respect for the law - human government. Go back now to Genesis 9. As we see in verses 5 and 6, human government was established to maintain law and order, to protect the lives of the citizens; and in order to deter crime - murder in particular - God instituted capital punishment.
Any nation that practiced capital punishment in the past had a relatively low crime rate until they abolished it. One of the most visible examples of this is the nation of France. Until sometime in the 1970's, France still used the guillotine to execute murderers. They had so few murders in France each year that you could practically number them on one hand, But,
"society" said, "that's barbaric, it's a holdover from the dark ages," and so capital punishment there was abolished. Immediately, their murder rate skyrocketed like that of other nations without capital punishment. I am convinced that capital punishment is a legitimate deterrent to murder and major crime. We see so clearly in Genesis 9, what the Word of God says in this regard. The Word is true! I make no apology for it.
I looked it up on the internet about Capital punishment..It does not say this man should get away with his crimes..To me it says if he doesn't go by what the law says then he can be exicuted..
That said I really think this man should be fried to a crisp..He is a very bad person and we would be much safer with him gone..if riots start then the national guard should be called out and who ever breaks the law should be shot..
I don't think Arnold's chances in the next election are hinging on this issue. I think he's lost it already...and I believe Arnold knows that he's lost it.
"And that is the crux of the matter. IN MY OPINION. "
Because they deny it is "life".
It would be the FINAL nail in his political coffin.
A witness testified that Williams mocked the gurgling sounds Owen[s] made as he lay dying. "You should have heard the way he sounded when I shot him," the witness quoted Williams.
Or when it comes to the victims of the crime?
I'll tell you why. Because they do not believe in free will. They believe that if Tookie had had money and an education then he would be a Harvard professor. Which to me, means that liberals do not respect those who are less fortunate and remain law abiding. Or "worse", actually build a successful and happy life without perfect circumstances.
That's why they want him free. Because they think that lack of money killed those four people.
But think on this....
If I am wrong and there is no God, and I am but a fool for following him, what have I lost?
But. What if I am right and there is a God and you are the one that is wrong? With that scenario, you have lost everything.
Among liberals it is.
I've got it, thanks!
Highway to Hell would probably be the more appropo AC/DC song.
What? Borrowing billions more, expanding the government, bringing back Gray Davis's key crew members to run things, and banning more guns wasn't bad enough for you? Geez!
I think it needs to be reserved for those who show they are a continuing danger, and not against those who commit stupid crimes and who are remorseful and not likely to kill again.
Good point.
