-- If the Bay State senators could hang an ornament on the Pentagon Christmas tree, it would be pink.
A pink slip, that is, for Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.
Democratic Senators Edward Kennedy and John Kerry called for Rumsfeld's resignation last week, following a speech at John Hopkins University in which Rumsfeld defended the war in Iraq and critiqued the mainstream media's war coverage.
"We've arrived at a strange time in this country where the worst about America and our military seems to so quickly be taken as truth by the press," Rumsfeld said.
As an example, Rumsfeld later pointed to stories revealing a Pentagon program that reportedly paid a contractor to pay Iraqi newspapers to print positive stories about the U.S. effort in Iraq. The stories apparently were written by the contractors and published as news.
"That story has been pounded in the media," Rumsfeld said. "And the problem is the story goes out all over the world, over and over and over again. And we're still trying to find out what the facts are."
The senators, though, seemed more apt to believe the press than Rumsfeld.
"We need a fresh start at the Pentagon for the good of American troops, so brave Americans stop paying the terrible price of this defense secretary's mistakes," Kerry said.

I'm not that much of a Rummy fan, but if the Massachussetts Silver-Spooners are calling for him to resign, I'm all for him staying. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
HE CAN RESIGN ONE DAY AFTER THEY DO!
Prairiebreeze is calling for the immediate resignations of BOTH Massachusettes senators too.
I second that motion!
All in favor -- motion passes!
The Democrat's plan for Iraq: "Follow the yellow road."
I don't know. If you find out, fill me in, will you?
I've read in the past that the Republican Party in Mass. is pretty disorganized and clueless. Now I could be wrong, of course, and I hope I am. But it is a mystery to me too why competent and ethical people can't be found to run against these two clowns.
Thar he blows!! (re: post #42)
Hey Rex! You just helped me out as I'm putting the final touches on T-shirts and coffee mugs pertaining to the two dunderheads!!I finally just could't resist any longer, and when everyone sees these wonderful items, they will want them. Available to anyone that cares{he-he}I'm going to try to get Rush to carry my ideas and artwork too,and this way I can complete several missions: help a few military support groups with the proceeds, and make fun of "Chubby Chops" and "Candle Face"too! I hope to have mugs,T-shirts, and car stickers done in time for Valentine's Day. Hillary is next....
Good work, Angelady! And best wishes on your endeavor. Sounds good to me!
Merry Christmas!
Yeah, and that'll be as effective as Rumsfeld calling for Kennedy's and Kerry's resignations.
They're the killer and the Traitor.
Maybe they can spare enough of the Tookie Juice for Kennedy and Kerry.
Ornaments the Senators from mass. might hang on a tree.
John Kerry

I wish God would go Sodom and Gomorrah on Massachusetts' ass...
Who all have the Democrats called to resign? Rumsfeld. Cheney? Rove! They got Scooter Libby.
That's their favorite gimmick. If we can't beat them at the polls, maybe we can intimidate them into resigning, Yeah, that's the ticket.
What a pair of "floaters"! Push the handle down, and flush 'em! Jiggle the handle too.......
Freepers call for resignations of Kerry and Kennedy.
Lately I've given serious thought to moving--it's getting that bad around here. Taxes are killing me, and the illegals are overwhleming certain areas.
try more like idiots "en masse" at it again
