The report also found most coastal communities lacked evacuation plans for residents because of funding problems.
OK. I've got a evacuation plan for the coastal communities, and I'll sell it for a mere 100 dollars per community.
Get in your car.
Drive like hell.
See!! Now how hard was that?

As if it was possible to be prepared for a last second 50 foot wave of water hitting them with 20 mins notice!

Or we could drain the ocean.....LOL. That's a great idea, especially for those 'Coast to Coast' guests and callers who think the earth is hollow.
But where the heck is the plug?

Buncha geeks did some research along the CA coast, checking the erosion and deposits, etc.
They found out that for the last hundred years or, while all the construction was going on, well, it's been about the tamest period for the CA coastline in the last thousand years.
Anytime you see cliffs like that, well, it used to be flatter. Some of it fell away.
That's why they're cliffs.

Ignores a lot of basic knowledge of the coastline structure, wave dynamics, etc. There would be some damage, but nothing like SE Asia.
Aot of hype over nothing. The chances are about nil.

Drive like hell. Nah, too simple. They need a couple of bazillion dollars from Congress for permanent committees to discuss the problem permanently. Weekly fact-finding trips to Thailand, expense accounts, cocktail parties -- that's how it's done, dontcha know?

Too true to be funny!
Don't forget the part where they sell the contract to do all the work to the Chinese...

"As if it was possible to be prepared for a last second 50 foot wave of water hitting them with 20 mins notice!"not so fast there skippy
Trilobis 65 is a semi-submerged dwelling environment. Reaching 20 metres in length designed by Giancarlo Zema for habitation by six people at sea. It is ideal for living in bays, atolls and maritime parks. The main aim of the project is to allow anyone to live in a unique environment through a self sufficient, non-polluting dwelling cell in unison with their ocean surroundings.

That shouldn't be a problem, Karl Rove has been careful to point the Tsunami weapon at Muslim areas in South East Asia.
His aim has been true so far...
