Chris Wallace: Mike Wallace Has 'Lost It'

"Fox News Sunday" anchorman Chris Wallace says father Mike Wallace has "lost it" - after the legendary CBS newsman told the Boston Globe last week that the fact George Bush had been elected president shows America is "[expletive]-up."

"He's lost it. The man has lost it. What can I say," the younger Wallace lamented to WRKO Boston radio host Howie Carr on Friday.

"He's 87-years old and things have set in," the Fox anchor continued. "I mean, we're going to have a competence hearing pretty soon."

Wallace Jr. quickly dispelled any notion that he was joking. When Carr suggested that his comments were likely to be covered by NewsMax, he responded: "You know what? Fine. Go ahead. Call them. That's fine. I'll stand by that."

Returning to the topic of his father's competence, Wallace Jr. explained: "He's checked out. I don't understand it," beyond the fact that Wallace Sr. has "problems with the war."

"I don't know why he said what he said," he added.

On Thursday, the elder Wallace told the Boston Globe that if he had the chance to interview President Bush, he'd ask:

"What in the world prepared you to be the commander in chief of the largest superpower in the world? In your background, Mr. President, you apparently were incurious. You didn't want to travel. You knew very little about the military. . . . The governor of Texas doesn't have the kind of power that some governors have. . . . Why do you think they nominated you? . . . Do you think that has anything to do with the fact that the country is so [expletive] up?"

I know WHY?.. because we owe it to him.. Due to his long years of being a news reader.. He is owed deference by the smucks hes served faithfully spinning the news and passing on his opinion.. After all we are only "the masses", "the Bourgeoisie ", "the Opiated religious".. The fooled and brain washed capitalists much too foolish, to see the brilliance for socialism.. you know slavery by government..

Its wise to remember the apple don't fall far from the tree either.. Chris is a stone socialist too.. a brown pot calling the other black.. We owe him..

I'm with you on that one. I'd take my old man out for a beer and disagree but not in public. Then again my old man would kick my arse if I did what Chris did......then my mother would step up and help him out. LOL

"A son or daughter should never speak ill of his parents in private, and to do so in public is rotten."

And vice-versa. The worst example I've seen in recent years is John Voight publicly ripping into his daughter (Angelina Jolie).

She just cut off all contact with him after that, and kept it private while he keeps showing up on TV and whining about it.

Pathetic.

JMHO, but the classy thing for Chris Wallace would have been to say "no comment," and leave it at that. Business is business, and politics is politics, but what goes in a family should stay in the family. There are plenty of things I disagree about with other members of my family, but I'd never call them out on it in public--especially if it was the byprodduct of some mental disorder.

I saw that show also....disgusting. Pter Jennings at first said he would tell our troops they were about to be ambushed and Wallace berated him so that Jennings changed is mind!! I wish those soldiers on that panel would have punched Wallace out....they were sickened.

Yep, that's the same program I was referencing...
A couple of years ago, a young lawyer sent me a link to the transcript after I mentioned the event on another post....

Apparently the conversations that took place during that program, became a "case study" in their law class...

That "bit" with the POS Wallace talking about the "higher calling" of being a Journalist should be shown over and over and over -- to inform Americans of the nature of the enemy within that we face...

Screw em all...
